Hopefully we wouldn’t take too much of a lossPhillips would be silly to not go there if he gets the chance, lovely guy it seems but not good enough for this team and Pep

Footballing wise.....West Ham would suit him ideally,i agree. However, after watching that documentary i think he'd struggle with being any further away from his Mum and family.Phillips would be silly to not go there if he gets the chance, lovely guy it seems but not good enough for this team and Pep
I'll second thatGet him back. Phillips won't do it.

Might as well keep Tommy in that case, far more to his game than Lavia for this system. We could always tempt them with Tommy Doyle as a replacement.

I think I'd rather give Tommy a go than Phillips atm, nice kid but he hasn't had a strong preseason tbhWe could always tempt them with Tommy Doyle as a replacement.
And that would mean we could activate the buyback clause.would be nice if he somehow stayed at Southampton another season.

Agreed but hindsight is a wonderful thing. Its a huge shame we chose to overlook two very decent, potentially excellent, academy products in favour of Philips. Both would have been far more useful last season.
Though this is true, look at the absolute bleeting going on when Bobb and Palmer are suggested as Mahrez replacements. "Got to buy, ' Got to buy, 'Why didn't we use the academy?'Its a huge shame we chose to overlook two very decent, potentially excellent, academy products in favour of Philips. Both would have been far more useful last season.
I am on record here saying we’d be better off keeping Lavia than signing Philips whom I always said wasn’t good enough for us. I don’t think it’s the same now, especially because of where the two players you mentioned are. And who needs immediate replacing. Bobb can stay and be worked for the future, if it works, it works. But be careful. Palmer just won’t make it here despite the chances givenThough this is true, look at the absolute bleeting going on when Bobb and Palmer are suggested as Mahrez replacements. Phillips at the time looked a decent sensible signing as a back up to Rodri, sadly he looks totally out of his depth even in that role.
As you already know, I couldn't agree more. Its a huge shame we chose to overlook two very decent, potentially excellent, academy products in favour of Philips. Both would have been far more useful last season.
Or MilnerIf he is a replacement for Fabinho or Henderson then he must be a clogger.
Brazilian media is saying Liverpool has approached him as the Lavia alternative. This is one of the most “PL players” in South America today. Very high ceiling, tactically smart. If he is a replacement for Fabinho or Henderson then he must be a clogger.
