Rooney Charged 2 game Ban

Re: Rooney Misses The Derby

How can you not appeal a sending off for two yellows if one is the incorrect decision, yet you can appeal the length of the ban even though the whole fuckin world has seen what he did and the punishment is two games.
This is absolutely bizzare but it could open a can of worms for the fa if they reduce it.
I have said it in other another post i dont think he should be banned for what he did and that is just my opinion, but once he was charged it has got to be upheld or the fa will look ridiculous, oh wait

They will enforce what the ref says he would have done if he had seen the incident otherwise they will be undermining the official; that's what it boils down to imo.
3 games it is then

Re: Rooney Misses The Derby

Do we get to find out who's on the panel and the reasoning behind their decision? Guaranteed to be reduced to one match which he probably wouldn't have started, with another suspended and a warning about future conduct. He's worth too much to the FA for anything else.

Re: Rooney Misses The Derby

any reduction would be an absolute farce

He swore
The FA meet to decide if charge warranted
They think it is
The offence carries a 2 game ban
He is charged

Not only that, he's releases a statement apologising, an admission of guilt.

Any appeal can only be based on hope, not expectation - unless of course the whole thing has been manufactured from the start and the outcome was agreed between the parties before the charge was even brought.

But that's just paranoia gone mad - isn't it?

But surely FA will want to new evidence before they reduce the ban otherwise what was the purpose of the hearing today?

To be honest couldn't give a stuff whether he plays or not, if he can't play will allow the rags all the excuses when we beat them.

Rooney not playing isnt our problem... its theirs :)

And if he does end up getting this reduced, we should use it as part of a siege mentality.

Re: Rooney Misses The Derby

So he admits it but he thinks its harsh? he has history for swearing in matches! so for once the FA should grow some and stick two fingers up to him..................

Re: Rooney Misses The Derby

I can't believe people are saying there's no chance it'll be reduced, have you forgotten every incident with the rags and the FA?

Of course it'll be reduced, the FA get to make their grand statement and Shrek misses a game against Fulham which he may well have been rested for anyway. Pointless and spineless, but it's what will happen.

Bargaining sentences is not at all unusual, it goes on all the time (as it should). He's copped a guilty plea and is saying is sentence should be at the lower end of the tariff. Seems a perfectly reasonable stance to me. It's up to the FA if they accept his case or not.

True but then again he hardly had a defence in the first place so the value of the guilty plea is hardly a mitigating factor, just as if a burglar is caught red handed halfway out of a window carrying somone's telly by two police officers.[/quote]

Always some bent coppers ain`t there ??

Re: Rooney Misses The Derby

As i've said to every plastic who's asked me today, let the fat scouse granny shagger play against us then they'll have no excuses when we batter 'em.

Re: Rooney Misses The Derby

He will get his 2 game ban reduced to a one game ban, I will be really shocked if he did get a 2 game ban to be honest the FA let the Rags away with everything...

he won't get it

but who cares? we are good enough to beat the cheating bastards.

This!!

Well said Sam....bring them on bring them all fooking on, we finally have a team capable of beating the swamp dwellers.......if they believe and are allowed to play their natural game...*cough* ,,,Bobby !!

Re: Rooney Misses The Derby

I think it's great how they're risking an extra game ban just for Rooney to play against 'ickle Citeh', shows how much they're worrying.

He's got no case though in my book, a huge bottle job by the FA when they let him off.

Re: Rooney Misses The Derby

As someone said earlier..the FA will not undermine one of their own referees.
Referees need to know that the FA are behind them, by not implementing the full letter of their rules would be a kick in the teeth to refs around the country.

Re: Rooney Misses The Derby

Did the ref say he would have sent him off or something???

Did the referee say this week that 'If he had heard what Rooney said he would of sent him off'?

Just I didnt see any of the refs comments about Rooney.

Re: Rooney Misses The Derby

there not risking an extra ban for a frivilous appeal, its not like when they did it in the carling semi so rio(?) could play next day with no case, the ban could only be increased to three games in this instance if the panel feel the 2 game punishment isnt enough for the original offence. You are allowed to appeal otherwise the appeals process is meaningless and possibly unlawful.

They did exactly the same last season with turdinand and he ended up getting an extra game because of it
