Rooney (MERGED)

RAG FANS CHANGING THEIR TUNE TODAY

i unfortunately have to work in Old Trafford, and innevitably have a building full of rag fans to put up. But today really is hilarious, some of the statements today:

1. Rooney is a mercenary, its all about the money
2. Why are the fans chanting rooneys name, its putting the rest of the team off. (i would be chanting his name if my strikeforce consisted of berbatov and chorizo)
3. Its that arab, flashing a bit of "coin"
4. Rooney is a disgrace
5. I bet the united players were raging at rooney faking injury today!!!! (what if there never was an injury, and utd have pulled him out of the game. did that ever cross your mind?)
6. No player is bigger than the club (not anymore, who's there biggest player, nani? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH)

Please feel free to add anymore pearls of genius the rags come out with today

Wherever he is going (and I believe it could well be City) the deal is almost certainly agreed in principle.

Rooney holds all the cards over ManYoo and will go where he wants.

Does anyone on here seriously think his agent Paul Stretford has been sat on his fookin hands since March...

It's about cold hard cash. RUTHLESS.

He will be a City player.

Wow, I can hardly begin to articulate the mixed emotions this whole saga brings. On the one hand, I'm absolutely loving it, Fergiescum absolutely powerless to stop it happening, a weak team about to be weakened even more by the loss of their last remaining decent player, and a real shift in power in Manchester.

On the other hand, if Rooney were to come to city....
Well, I'm not sure we need him. He would expect to be a first team regular and would upset the system we've already got at the moment, which works fine. And on current form, I don't think he'd even warrant a place on the bench! Not to mention all the instability and tabloid stories and rumours he'd bring. And I still think he's overrated. No, I don't think he's shit by any means but I think he's definitely been overhyped by the media because he's one of the only naturally talented english players.

So, definitely don't know what to make of it all. I think the best case scenario would probably be him moving to Barca or Real, that way Utd are still weakened, and none of our domestic rivals are strengthened. A move to Chelsea would be bad news, they'd have the replacement for Drogba they so desperately need. I think I would only want him if he definitely was staying in this country, just so that none of our rivals could be strengthened.
