So if we win ugly for a year what then? Change the side to be better? Do the great teams win ugly? No they play football, Robinho and Ireland are never gonna play well in a tam that hits balls to a big man they dont want to play that way. Fuck me you sound like a sunday league coach.

He didn't say win ugly for a year! He said win ugly when things aren't going right i.e. Having a plan b.

How many times do we hear when the Rags or the Bin Dippers lose after playing terrible, that "Its the sign of a good team"?!

How many times do City win when they are terrible? Not many.

When playing football doesn't work against the likes of Bolton and Wigan, we need to be able to play them at their own game and grind out the result, something that we severely lacked last season.

This is a depressing thread, cant believe we are even considering a guy who is a crock, I wasnt that impressed by him in his apparent glorious season under Hughes, he didnt win the golden boot or terrorise defences did he! For shits sake whrere is our ambition! Does Hughes have any scouting network at all? I logged on hoping to read about Tevez or a genuine quality player being linked to us and read we might be buying this pile of turd. I want to see us bring real talent to the club, players who would get in Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea's teams. Not has beens who never were Bridge, Bellamy, fucking Santa Cruz. Why not get Aguero, Athletico didnt make the Champs league spots, Benzema, Bojan, Pato, up and coming future world stars.

Ermm check your facts Athletico Madrid did make the Chumps league . Bellamy did get in Liverpools team. RSC was one of the Prems top scorers the season before last.

exactly.

i didn't say we had to play ugly all the time.. it's not always black or white.

We need to have different options and dimensions. Bloody hell. People on here are incapable of having an intelligible argument.

Words are put in your mouth all the time.

Might even score from a corner or two

Re: RSC is signing today

Apologies you are right about Athletico getting fourth, but they still have to qualify, however the fact Bellamy played for Lpool means shit, he isnt there now is he? Why? Not good enough. Plenty of no marks played for Houlliers Lpool - Nunez? Should we buy him? RSC was one of the top scorers so what was he top scorer? No Benjani was on that list last year. We want someone on it every year! Just ask if you had no financial obstacle (we dont) and you need a striker (we do) would you look at RSC? Dont tell lies or make yourself sound daft. its a no.

It's true. Winning when playing badly can account for about 18 points for a team like the rags.

It probably accounts for around 3 for us. Middlesborough being the only game i can think of....and even that we had enough chances to be out of sight.

Sdavros

I'm saying that MH seems obsessed with capturing RSC at all costs.
His scoring record is no better than average-whether you agree with the stats or not...;-0....but what isn't in doubt,as Svennis says- is that the guy spends more time on the bench than on the pitch. His signing would be a sizeable risk simply not worth taking for the returns,in my opinion.
Not to mention arming Fat sam with 15m of our money to rebuild....
There are other players-Crouch included-who have better records, are equally intelligent players and will do equally effective jobs as the "big target man we don't have."

Personally,I would hate to see us get this type of player as I know excactly where it would take us tactically.
Drogba is the exception to the rule-but he is ten times the player RSC will ever be.

I for one have to agree.
