Running thread

im just gonna do a daily plod now till 1st Jan - then train properly for Marathon in April

too much booze sessions coming up december

I don't think I'm currently capable of running every day. I still need at least one recovery day between running days to allow my knees to recover. I am, however, doing a bit of cross-training doing an hour or so of swimming at least twice a week.

Ran the Valencia marathon this morning. Was hoping for 3h30 and it was going well until km 35. Fell apart at that point but managed to shuffle to the end in 3h34 (watch time). Chip time was 40 seconds slower but pretty happy with that seen as my previous PB was 3h53.

Definitely in the "never doing a marathon again" camp at the minute but that'll probably change in a few days when I get an email with a discount for next year's! Would love to do an ultra though.

Need a good rest now after all the training and it will be nice to have a lie in at the weekend.

Said it before but would definitely recommend Valencia if you're up for travelling for a marathon. Nice flat course and good weather/food/beer!

Fantastic effort mate. Great time. Supposed to be doing the Malaga marathon next week but hoping to transfer to the half as fancy a bit of a holiday more than an arduous run.

Good effort mate, well done.

I had the same feeling when I completed my first marathon - Manchester, a year ago. I then learned that I had a medical condition throughout all my training and during the marathon, and thought I might like to give it another go, now that the condition is fixed.

Unfortunately, I now have knee pain, and I'm not running. I'm concerned my football and running days might be over. Hope not though.
