Running thread

Maybe not the correct place, but watching the end if the Langkawi iron man wow these people give everything, due respect to them it is emotional watching them finish.

Used to enjoy this thread, I’ve not been able to run or jog since end of January after knee injury from football. Had ACL reconstruction last week after meniscus repair surgery in April, so now another approx 3/4 months before I’m allowed a jog so I’ll be at circa a full 12 months. Feels weird to have never done anything other than walk for so long.

300 is huge, hope you're still walking them ?!
Nah, only time I’ve been since my injury was to see my son do his 250 a couple of weeks ago, I just go to the gym and do a spin class on a Saturday morning instead, but can’t do that either now. Fuck all for 6 weeks then hopefully allowed on static bike.

Shit, well done for resting up , that’s tough to do when you are previously so active, hope injury heels sooner.

8km done tonight, my longest run since Chester 10k in March. So, I'm happy with that.

I'm following the 10% rule of increasing the running but the knee pain is still there, nowhere near as bad as it was back in March but still uncomfortable. It does ease off during the run and then I have it on and off for the rest of that run. I know it's not the best running through stuff like that.

Think I'll deload now for the next couple of weeks, book a 2nd physio session and keep up my strengthening exercises.
