Running thread

Get tyres inflated and just go out for a gentle ride, check brakes are working first though!! Once out go through all your gears seeing if you’ve any issues then take to shop, Halfords are already open if you need them to do anything.

Good luck and enjoy.
Yep, gave it a go. The tube/tyre must be punctured. I am going to get some new ones ordered. From what I have found online these will do the job;
Continental Race 28 Inner Tube - 700c (42mm Valve)
Continental Ultra Sport II Folding Road Tyre - 700c

If anyone knows anything about those things hah.

Running and cycling compliment each other and I have been doing both now for the past 25 years. I started as a cyclist competing in time trials and one winter decided to extend the training by taking up running. The following summer my Times improved and I beat the hour for a 25 mile TT for the first time. I then started running more and progressed to marathons whilst still maintaining the cycling, but to a reduced amount. So on yer bike!
Yep, hearing a lot of good things about it so definitely want to give it a go. That sort of progress sounds pretty impressive mate!

Did my 30 minute blast this morning, managed 3.9 miles which although I wanted 4 miles I’m happy with the end result. Beer in the garden now and may get out on the bike in the morning.
Good on you.

I also did a 30-minute blast - the 'Full Tilt 30' team challenge, organised by a running club in Newcastle. Teams of 10 (minimum of 5 women) run for 30 minutes and add up their total distance. I did just over 4.1 miles which I'm reasonably happy with as I'm not quick at all over short distances, plus I'm pretty knackered at the moment. Managed to sustain a left bum cheek injury with maybe half a mile to go, despite a good warm-up with lots of drills and dynamic stretches beforehand.

Not sure whether or not to run on it today but I'm sitting here in my running gear so I'll perhaps go out for a couple of easy miles so I can better assess the damage.

5k round The Dream this morning. 28 minutes on the nose.

Weather felt a lot "heavier" than late. Proper "muggy" which I always find more difficult to run in.

Having 2-3 days off now as have just done 9 days in a row of various sessions.

I drive by the dream on my commute (Key worker before anyone gets their knickers in a twist!)
Often thought about doing a 5 k on way home. Is there an obvious route path to follow I presumed it just went up to the dream and back down. Cheers.

First run in two weeks as my knees felt like mine again.

Wore my new Pegasus Turbos and took 3 minutes off my previous 5k at 25:56 but it was was over 35 degrees and I’m fucked. I think I’m going to have to start running before the sun comes up as I waited until about 10am.

Went out on the bike, bloody windier than I thought!! Still had a good hour on it again.

Just done my 'virtual' 10km Tatton Park run.

Very windy, moggy and a bit a drizzle around I went a route that my neighbor told me about the other day that they had walked their dog 6.4miles - perfect.

Really long uphill slog for about 2 miles and I wasn't really feeling nor did I seem to have a lot of power in my legs.

Started feeling pretty good towards the end (as most people do) but realised that the 6.4m will not get me home, my neighbor was wrong it's 7.21m :-)

Mile 1 - 8:15
Mile 2 - 8:54
Mile 3 - 8:37
Mile 4 - 8:53
Mile 5 - 8:24
Mile 6 - 8:23
Mile 7 - 8:31
Rest. - 1:46

Total run - 1:01.45 - 7.21m (11.06km)
10km element - 53:10

Both personal bests.

Tender knee and calves but feeling pretty good - I could have carried on and may try and revisit the route next week to try and improve the time.
