Running thread

Went out at 06:45 this morning & completed about 5.5k. First time I've done that distance without stopping for a couple of weeks, but it was at a very steady pace.
Got home, had a cold shower, but I've only just stopped sweating in the last half hour or so!

Lovely start to the day, well done.

Honestly didn't think it was that bad this morning, although I must have sweated out about 4 litres

Isn’t Manchester just permanently cloudy, dark and gloomy with the stench of sewage and empty boddington cans laying about? Maybe that’s why it’s cooler up there.

Sitting here feeling sorry for myself with a nasty dose of Covid-19 so I thought I'd share my new video about getting it all wrong as a runner.

Thanks for the vids, Stu. Nice entertaining snippets, which I would encourage others to watch. They are only a few minutes long, and always have some interesting tips.

I score quite well on this one. I don't drink, always have a warm down, and can never be accused of going too fast.

Maybe do a collaboration with Gaz about where to get cheap running gear.

Thanks for the feedback mate! You're very kind and it means a lot.

Not sure that 'on-trend' Gaz does cheap gear, to be honest!

Done the exact thing at the same time, came home and had a shower, and I was still sweating 10 minutes later!

The run itself wasn't too bad, but it just goes to show how warm it actually is when a cold shower doesn't even cool you down!

All right lads, I've set up a new Facebook group for all things running. My intention is for it to be a supportive community for anyone who is getting into running or hoping to improve. I've stuck with 'Finish Line Focus' as I like the idea of people signing up for an event and then doing everything to successfully cross that finish line.

It's a brand-new group so I'm sharing it with you lads first. Feel free to join up!

Nice one @Stuuuuuu! Just joined (or sent my request)

Doesn't quite belong in this thread because there wasn't much running involved but I completed the 100km Peak District Ultra Challenge over the weekend in just under 24 hours. Physically, it was the hardest thing I've ever done but we've raised £5,164 for a cause very close to my heart so every blister and cramp was well worth it.

Had a few days complete rest and, once my toes are back to normal, I'll be back out running. Need a new target to focus on now!

Great job mate, 24hours is a long long time to be in your feet.
What are these normal toes you speak of?

That is a spectacular achievement mate! Very well done indeed.
