I’m 72 and 20 minute walking footy games are enough for meFair play to still be playing football. I’m 58 and I don’t think I could do it.

Madness Frank, but good luck. You’ll do it your way!Just signed up for a 70 mile ultra run. No idea of the mileage, length of runs or how I should train but strength work seems to be a key component.
Lots of research to undertake along with the training.
Great work BH and great three points for your lads today.Parkrun 247 - closing in on the big 250.
your time in position 48 today at Dartford parkrun was 25:51. Well done! Service powered by aql.com
Probably missing something but wouldn't it be 70 miles?Just signed up for a 70 mile ultra run. No idea of the mileage, length of runs or how I should train but strength work seems to be a key component.

Indeed!Probably missing something but wouldn't it be 70 miles?
Thought I might as well post a link to the Cancellations list here. Some local ones already off, but I’d expect this list to grow up to 7/8am tomorrow:Any cancellations will probably be down to fallen branches blocking paths rather than flooding.
As you say, Fletcher Moss sometimes gets cancelled when the Mersey gets a bit high, as does Sale Water Park.
Peel and fletcher moss both offThought I might as well post a link to the Cancellations list here. Some local ones already off, but I’d expect this list to grow up to 7/8am tomorrow:
Cheers mate. Just about to leave the warmth of the car now!Peel and fletcher moss both off
Alex park is on
I’ve gotta get myself back there pronto. Such a quick course!Isabel Trail Parkrun completed in 28:56 this morning.
Only 225 participants this morning as I guess the tourists were scared off by yesterday's drizzle and slight breeze.
I’ll let you know next time I’m down there pal - it’s your regular isn’t it?Loads of space this morning. A few puddles and a bit of mud to contend with, but mainly having to dodge girls running gingerly around it.
Yeah, managed to cover all the Greater Manchester ones (eventually) by tying them into home games :-)It is. I do it when at home & do a Manchester one when I'm up for a home game or a gig.
I've currently got these in my basket at run Northwest, a steal at that price, although that colour might not last long going over moorlandsAny recommendations on trail shoes?
Might be doing 20k+ on Friday, some big climbs and sections on moorland so not overly keen on wearing usual road runners. Not likely to do loads of trail running in future, so don't want to be spending silly money.

Would like to help HB but I’m very much a beginner.71 year old doing regular sub 34 minute 5K for the last few months, would like try 10K, any advice on training strategy?
