Which were nothing like the ones the Nazi's implemented during WWII and are not in anyway comparable as a term you'd currently associate with it. TL;DR they weren't utilised as death camps.

Trouble is NATO needed time to train them to fight effectively, and supply decent weapons, that time has been well used as we are seeing now, but without it, the russians just had overwhelming power.

It’s for a completely different debate but not sure we’ll ever really know that for sure.
