They are incredibly insecure as far as I can see. The need to look, sound and act tough all the time is pathetic.

Key thing now will be whether this morning's attacks are the start of a persistent campaign against the Ukrainian civilians or a one-off retaliation for the attack on the bridge. If it is the former, and it goes on unabated, then it could be the start of a Russian attempt to create another wave of migration west into Europe, after which Russia will turn off the energy taps and try to create division in Europe in an attempt to undermine its support.

You don't want a lot of Russians migrating to your country. In a few years time they will claim it as part of Russia, and launch a special operation (war) to annex it. Georgia beware!

Best thing Ukraine can do now is press home its advantage on the battlefield. The Russian propaganda machine will be in full effect over the next couple of days, but the Ukrainians have the impetus and the will where it matters, so the West just needs to make sure it gives the materiel.
