HIMARS has been busy overnight. An example of strikes last night to destroy Logistics (Ammo stores etc) C&C (Command and Control) and GLOCs. (Gound Lines if Communication):
Vibes of Stalingrad in WW2. At the time it was a fairly large industrial city with some tank factories but not anything hugely significant in the full scheme of the red army. The Germans threw everything at it to capture it - then a load more to hold it. To the extent that the lines north of it got patchy and the Russians broke through to the north and eventually encircled the Germans in the City. Circa 2 million died from both sides. The city was just a pile of rubble from early on in the conflict so they were fighting over nothing.Strategically it could be more that it's worth defending simply because the cost in Russian lives and material attacking is so large. Part of the overall strategy to wear down Russian ability to fight?
Such a simple concept with modern tech but devastating effect.
Careful with what you wish for. Putin's war started out as, supposedly, a short military action to 'liberate Russians who wanted some reunification with their 'home nation'. It's gone badly wrong for both sides, Ukraine has seen thousands of its peoples lives or livelihoods destroyed. Russia has seen the humiliation of it's army, but, it is still there. The only way out now for Putin is for NATO provided weaponry to hit his troops on Russia itself. He will then be able to claim to his trusting Russian public that NATO is the aggressor, seeking to destroy his country and that threat can only be met by his forces using the big one.I suggest that it is now time to provide Ukraine with long range weapons, tell ruSSia any more strikes on infrastructure inside Ukraine will be met with similar strikes inside ruSSia.
No question mark about it. It is part of the strategy.Strategically it could be more that it's worth defending simply because the cost in Russian lives and material attacking is so large. Part of the overall strategy to wear down Russian ability to fight?
