I watched something on forces news before about why the Leopard 2 was the tank of choice. The numbers available, the spare parts available, but it was also said that Leopard 1 tanks could enter the battlefield. They don't have the same survivability, being much older, but needs must I guess.

To a certain extent it doesn't matter what the Russian losses are............it's a war of attrition and the last man standing is the winner. Putin is never going to sit around a table and negotiate to withdraw his troops back across the border.

Russia can afford to throw bodies into the meat grinder and not worry too much how many perish, because there will always be more. Ukraine doesn't have that luxury.
