Russian invasion of Ukraine

From "The Analyst":

RUSSIANS ATTACK KRYNKY: DISASTER FOLLOWS

Russian forces, increasingly concerned with the situation in Kherson and especially at Krynky, launched an attack yesterday.
Starting with thermobaric weapons to bombard Ukrainian positions, they planned an assault from the eastern end of the village with a pair of tanks.
Meanwhile a sizeable force of infantry was being sent in to the forest in the south to attack the village from there.
What the Russians didn’t know was that the Ukrainians had moved deeper into the forest that they thought.
Meanwhile the tanks, which were designed to distract the Ukrainian forces while the infantry attacked, were spotted by drones before reaching their operating area. Incoming fire quickly followed and they turned around trying to flee, one was hit by a drone and disabled and the crew immediately abandoned it knowing a destruction round of some kind would follow, and it did. Ukrainian Marines chased down the other and destroyed it.
In the forest the Russian troops were late starting their advance in another example of rubbish coordination, so late that the Ukrainian drone operators found them massing in a residential area, using several houses and structures to hide themselves and their gear. This information was fed to HIMARS crews as a matter of urgency, Ukrainian soldiers didn’t want to face them in an unnecessary battle at this stage and the resulting devastation wiped out any hope of Russia’s to make any impact on the occupation of Krynky.
Yet again, bad planning and preparation, lack of coordination and frankly a rather minimalist approach to the operation has seen the Russians outwitted and defeated.
In some ways it highlights the low priority Russia gives to the area. A pair of tanks is all they had to try and make that part of the operation work? Knowing Ukraine had drone dominance and a preponderance of support artillery from the north bank?
That all they had was a single TOS thermobaric launcher (not a weapon you want to be on the receiving end of though), which is both short ranged and unsupported by their own artillery, seems to be scrapping the bottom of the barrel.
They clearly don’t know how many Ukrainians were present and not the real extent of their operating zone.
One source claims the Ukrainians have now taken control of two river channels to support Krynky and forces crossing to it. Rumour has it that as many as 8 armoured vehicles have crossed and have been hidden until needed. The Russians have acknowledged that at least two have crossed over.
A good day in Kherson for what seems to be a developing front. I keep waiting for the moment the Russians decide this is now dangerous but I just don’t think commanders on the ground are willing to admit it can’t be handled.

Slava Ukraini !
