So they both have "The" before them? I never said it doesn't matter I said that it wasn't unusual.

Not so sure about that. Like @domalino has said, they have the internet however I suspect a large proportion of the population are conditioned to assume news from outside Russia is western propaganda in much the same way that Fox News is the only news channel that nearly half of Americans have been conditioned to believe.

Doesn't phase me any of that mate, grew up on the internet seen it all unfortunately.

It's no 1950 any more. Russia has the internet, they have access to outside news sources, the iron curtain hasn't existed for 30 years - they found ways to get news from the outside during the height of Stalin's reign, they have it in abundance now.

If they believe the propaganda it's because they choose to.

You only have to look at Brexit for the misinformation, on both sides, to see it's not as clear cut as you suggest.
