Russian invasion of Ukraine

Sigh. It just goes on Social Media. Idiots and delusionals and liars and politically motivated people will treat it as real.

Kids, young people, others of their sort will see them. And some will believe them.

Don't get outraged. Laugh. It's just a way to exploit a facet of human nature. That's just the way it works. It costs them - stuff like that is why Russia has never, ever settled down, in it's entire history. It's the product of overly cynical minds. They are right, but really they are damaging their country, their culture, and handing on a messed up situation to their kids.

Don't get angry. If you let it, this sort of wind up has another affect - it clouds your ability to think at your best. Don't worry. It's nothing. It's a cheap tactic. It's stupid, on balance it's a disaster for them. But it might hurt you. If you let it.

Telling you - anyone reduced to trying this stuff, is sad. It's sad to see. Dear, oh, deah. No one should feel it neccessary. They don't respect for what they are, as people, a country, and as a culture. If they do understand it, they'd know trying to exploit it like this was self-destructive.

There's a reason the west won the peace and cold war, and that reason is education, and nurturing, a better, freer, more questioning society than Russia. Russia fell apart after 80 years - the life span of a human. Meanwhile, the west has been planning and working on raising smarter, better informed, kids, better at questioning and judging things, with access to more information. In a free society that won't ever need to self-destruct - it will keep trying different people, and then deciding if it's working or not, thanks to a proper democracy.

Roll your eyes. Apparently Russia thinks 'questioning things' and freedom of information is something they need to exploit! Rather than encourage and enshrine it in their own culture. Idiots. It literally is the lifeblood of our culture and country. By pushing the boundaries, they are doing us a massive favour.

Maybe the lesson here - when you read a tweet. A post. You can't even see if they had a straight face. Maybe it was a wierd joke? Or a really sad one. That's how to think about this stuff. You can't control what everyone thinks, and that's how they've got us. We feel that we should. No one should be in any doubt about it.

Nah. You have to let people make their own judgements. They have to be free to make mistakes. Otherwise the best truths we truly take to heart and value, are easily dismissed as 'propoganda' enforced by others.
Oh Glasnost, where are you now?

FFS......in a war thats 16 month old?
Been hearing this for over a year now.
After 10 days, did you say, been hearing this for over a week now.

Slava Jesus Fuckin Christ.

Just feels like any new story that breaks out is the ‘beginning of the end’ for Putin and then nothing seems to happen. that particular line is becoming a bit of a cliche.
Anyway… Hope I’m wrong and it’s the beginning of the end for him!

Really don't get this point of view. Your neighbour decides to come into your house and smash it to bits, but you're not allowed to do that to his house, because it might make him mad. He's friggin mad already.

Because the neighbour has a bomb that can blow up the whole world.

Ukraine doesn't have nuclear weapons, and the conditions attached to the conventional military aid is that they don't escalate the war into WW3.

Why do we still have these kind of posts over a year afterwards?
Pretending NATO and the West is still separate from Ukraine is now utterly preposterous. The amount of aid given to them means they are now, in every sense that matters, one and the same. The real risk of WW3 is continuing to let this drift without grasping the nettle. The sting will be bigger the longer that NATO and the West fail to grasp it. The bizarre nature of a war that 'allows' one country to commit atrocities onto another, in the knowledge that the victimised country is not allowed to respond inside the attacking countries borders, is, frankly, ridiculous.

You're right. Let's just get on with it. The Ukrainian soldiers should go and murder civilians, kidnap kids, go on rape sprees and then firebomb St Petersberg back into the swamp.
