Some of the politics in the last couple of days has got me more optimistic that this needless, stupid, russian inflicted conflict might be coming to an end soon.

I'm also more optimistic that it isn't going to fuck Ukraine, as a country they've stood up to the tyrant, and for that they deserve enormous credit.

What's not yet clear is how it will all pan out, trump comes out with a lot of shit, putin the same, and Zelensky just gets on with it, but I'm hopeful that people get their acts together and come up with a sensible solution, and I seriously hope it doesn't involve the completely useless/pointless UN security council, which imho should be disolved (other parts of the UN do some good work, just not that bit).

Way too many lives have been lost on both sides, and I hope the world doesn't forget the attrocities like Irpin, Bucha, and Mariupol, and especially the kids forcibly removed from Ukraine to russia, the war crimes, and they are exactly that.

I can't see any other reason why they voted against Russian troops leaving Ukraine.
Zelensky will force Trump into publicaly siding with Russia,IMO.

The way things have gone over the past couple of weeks, friendly meetings, divvying up Ukraine makes me think that Trump had put a deal to Putin when he was last in power, something along the line of " you ensure that I win the next election and I will not interfer in the situation in Ukraine after your invasion. I am convinced Trump emboldened Putin when he was last in the oval office.
Not too long ago you could rely on the US to have a bit of decency but to now see them vote with ruSSia, China, N Korea, Belarus ant the usual lennonist countries is shameful.
Time for Europe to remove their army and infrastructure from their lands, you need a reliable partner, not one who turns and stabs you in the back.
