putin's demands for a ceasefire are that Ukraine withdraws from certain oblasts such as Donetsk
Ukraine won't as the territory it holds in these oblasts are heavily fortified and if it gave them up it would hand a huge tactical advantage to the ruSSians for when they inevitably kick it off again
 
And of course push-over idiot Witkoff demanded Ukraine surrenders Donbass to Russia in the meeting on Friday.

Is what will inevitably happen - Putin will simply erearm, retain and go again.
Only Ukraine membership of NATO would possibly prevent this, and that's a big IF.

I get a sense Putin has conceded to Trump to draw the lines as they now stand, certainly based in what Trump said the other day. Putin will have presented it to Trump as a huge concession, of course.

Sadly, Ukraine is just going to have to keep grinding on.

Absolutely hasn’t as there are no calls from ruSSia for peace talks and drawing the lines now is a defeat for putin as he said he will have all of the Donbas before winter

What Russia says publicly and what Putin said to Trump are not going to amount to the same thing, and it’s all speculation of course, but if Russia is in as much trouble as we all hope then it’s far from inconceivable that Putin may reluctantly agree to a pause, especially as winter is coming. It hopefully means that this campaign against the oil refineries is really working.

I just thought it was worthy of note that Trump said what he did about freezing the lines so soon after speaking to Putin and assumed it didn’t occur in a vacuum.

From what i can gather.
Putin has told Trump he'd be willing to exchange the occupied parts of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia Regions,for full control of Donetsk and Luhansk Regions.
