2 :I support a Manchester club

I myself cannot understand why anybody could choose to support a club from another town / city/ country.

Walk down Bridge Street, go past the new Court building on your left, go over the bridge and guess what? You're in Salford!! Hardly fucking miles away is it? You're sounding like someone who hasn't ever really been through Salford or knows where it is. So you honestly can't understand why I, a Salfordian, and many other like me, support City? I give up.

Fair enough. That's your view on things. And I'm certainly not offended if you view me as a 'plastic' because I come from Kent.
I've been a City supporter since 1969 (I'm 53 now and I've been making the long trip up to see the blues since I was 13). I couldn't give two hoots if you think I'm a plastic: your view on me personally is irrelevant. The way I see things if you choose to support a team, you do exactly that - you support them. You pay your money for your tickets like everybody else. You buy endless amounts of tat from the shop, you make the effort to get out of your cosy armchair and attend games both home and away. It's what I do and it's what I've been doing for 40 years.

If that makes me plastic then I'm sure I can live with it.

I live in singapore / kent / boston (lincs) we do not have a top team of our own so I and have all the man u shirts/ wallpaper/ light switches in club colours and go to as many games as I can. = plastic / glory hunter according to most blues

As you have very little say in to where you are actually born surely it matters not where you are from but who you pick and then support for life.

If you live in Wakefield, the biggest city in the UK without a football team, who are you supposed to support, according to some you'd be a plastic whoever you choose.

Maybe you can only be a true blue if you were born in the parish of St Marks, Gorton.

I'm proud to be a Salfordian (born in Hope) and have supported City all my life, ST holder for over 20 years, and would laugh at anyone who though I was a plastic just because I wasn't born within the boundary of the city of Manchester (as if i had much choice) and chose to support God's own team.
