what makes me laugh is that Whythenshaw (where I work and live just 1 mile from the border of in Timperley) is about 8 miles from Mcr city center and 9 miles from the CoMS! and Higher Broughton, Salford is just 3 miles from Mcr city center and 4 miles from the CoMS and Salford Central Station is in Mcr city center!
IMO Mcr and Salford are 2 cities boroughs within the wider area of Manchester which also includes Trafford (where I live) also some parts of Tameside and places like Middleton and Whitefield!
my bird is from Salford- originally Weaste, then Little Hulton mow she lives in Mcr city center and although she is proud to be from Salford she considers herself Mancunian, as do I even though I live in Trafford! I spend most of my time in Manchester working, going out, shopping, drinking, visiting mates, seeing my bird, watching my footy team, my Mams from Moss Side as are most of my family and I was born in St Mary's hospital! so there's no way anyone can tell me I'm not Mancunian even if I live in United land (who also play in the wider area of Manchester whether it's not in the Borough of Mcr itself it is still Manchester!!

As the Salford Manchester Conurbation grows it will become like London of the north in terms of population and economic impotance and WILL overtake Birmingham as the second city
United will be the gritty eastenders?
City will be the eloquent westenders?
I know geographicaly this is the opposite way around but just a feeling

this thread has brought out the hypocricy of a lot of city fans .
For years we have all been slagging the rags off for not even coming from Manchester and their fans all being from London and Singapore.
now when a blue slates city fans for not coming from Manchester we are told by some old trafford is in fact in Manchester after all.
fans who support teams from other towns etc should be praised for the extra shit they get.
Salford seems to contain more blues than rags
you cannot be a glory hunter / plastic if you support city
It is ok to support another club if your local team is crap like county.
that is just a few of the justifications used well if all these things are in fact true we as a club have about three songs left we can actually sing and about 10 fans who have never called the rags for not being from manchester
so the rags may now sing to us we are in fact the pride of salford
ironically to the tune of your the pride of singapore

You're a bit of a tool if you're be so petty towards other City fans mate. You could also explain to me when football songs followed the lines of real life as well, they're meant for fun. So I'll hold that point as none valid and just consider you as someone who thinks of themselves as the better city fan than others. All down to ultimately where they were born or reside. In most of those cases I'd say a few miles difference maximum, but that appears to be all it takes to be plastic. Seemingly no matter how much time, cash and emotion said Salfordians have spent over and for City.

never said I was a better blue than anyone but ironic how it is ok to say this about rags but not city fans
just that being from Manchester has always been a sense of pride for manchester city fans and even the club themslves have played heavily on this over the years so as I said some fans may find this truth unpalatable and I will not resort to personal abuse because we do not share the same opinions and as for the term plastic and gloryhunter thse are universal footballing terms for fans who choose to support terms from other areas
