Safe Standing: Rail Seating in South Stand

Lovely little piece, Gary.
Thanks. I’m determined to use my site to keep posting facts, evidence and the truth... as well as entertaining stuff I hope! We have so much to be proud of and it’s time Football recognised the club’s achievements, records and positive contribution over all these decades.

You're like King Canute at times but I'm sure i speak for many proper blues when I say we appreciate your work which is always well written, well structured, calm and factually accurate. Unlike most of the shite you are responding to.

Ideally the next bit would be to kick away fans out of the South Stand so we have a proper home end, standing at the bottom, cheap seats at the top for the tight piss heads like me.

Don’t know whether they will do it though, with where the coach park is etc

Why bother? Hopefully we’ll have the blue wall in the north stand in a couple years time. The south stand is perfect to have away fans in for a policing point of view

What are the figures for away fans? If it's around the 5,000 mark that would make sense with them in tier 1 in the SS and the home safe standing in the new North stand.

We give 3000 away fan tickets. There’s no chance we’d give them that much of an advantage and put them all in the bottom tier though. The current layout with them spread across 3 tiers is perfect. It’s also easier for segregation purposes.

My thought exactly and house the family stand in tiers 2 and 3 so they don’t have to be next to the away fans. However how do the entrances work to get city fans into the top two tiers? I’ve never been in the south stand so I’m not sure how to avoid both away fans and home fans going in the same entrance. We know how poor the acoustics are down in ss1 so putting away fans in there would be great!
