Something doesn't ring true with this. No disrespect that man.

If it's true 109 has gone from a flash point, the fans v the club, to an official safe standing section, I'd be amazed. I honestly can't see the club sanctioning this.

Also. There have been no announcements from the PL or the club regarding the introduction of safe standing next season. It's true that Villa along with other clubs have offered to trial safe standing, but as I've stated, no official announcements have been made by the PL regarding safe standing.
He said it is common knowledge amongst the stewards, they have been briefed on it.

OK. If that's true it's great news. Still don't see the point in making 111 a buffer block. Fans stand in that block any way, and will do, regardless if it's safe standing or not.

Making 109 a safe standing block is very strange decision, considering the amount of hassle the fans and club have been through over it.
I'm in 111 I made the point that I hoped they didn't expect us to sit down. 'Cause it aint happening.

The same has been posted on another city forum by someone close to the club, great news if it is given the go ahead.

Considering it's one of the most vocal blocks, there's not a chance people in 111 will sit. TBH I don't think the club will enforce it.

I'm sure some of the BA lads on here will know about any safe standing plans. I'm also sure they won't say anything until it's made official.

Ohhhh yes yes this is sublime news if true.
No more Showsec hassling fans? :)

If they are trialling this at the back of 109 then it looks like I'll miss out being on Row F... But would happily move back to be apart of such trial.

Superb if true :)

If they are letting fans at the back of a block stand yet insist those at the front sit, then there must be some form of a surge restraint/barrier being placed directly behind the seats at the front or you would get fans falling over the tops of seated (if they ever sit down) fans with very dangerous consequences.

I can't think of standing fans behind seated fans in the same block anywhere in world football!

That page illustrates how it would work.

If true this is a Missed opportunity for operation one end

Could have put the safe standing in the 6 lower tier blocks of the north stand, as most of blocks 109-111 and south stand lower tier want to stand they could have been given the option to relocate and group the 2 most vocal areas of the stadium into one

Just saying like

Completely Agree!

If it did get a long term go ahead we really need to have it behind a goal as opposed to the the back portions of a quarter of a lower tier sidestand. It will just ruin the balance of the stadium and leave it lopsided.
