Re: Sagna

Offering him 3 year contract on 90k a week , means he will cost the club around 13 million Pound.

I would rather let Milner play as a back up RB instead of signing Sagna.

Why don't the club buy or promote a young RB who can compete with Zaba for a place ?

Re: Sagna

Don't see the point.

We'll end up letting Micah go, who will probably excel at Liverpool, get back into the England squad and shut up his haters (the same ones that said the same shit before the title win) ...and I will be here to say 'I told you so'

Re: Sagna

I want to keep Micah as well, but at this point I'm not sure how we can do it. We're grinding down Zabaleta badly, he has to start every game. Between the great distances he has to cover and the physical abuse he takes, no one else on the team has such a toll taken on their bodies with no backup.

Re: Sagna

It isn't about us wanting to keep Micah,
If you believe it Tolmie has said we offered him a new contract and he has turned it down, his head has no doubt been turned by Liverpool or even Arsenal who will give him a big contract and he will start every game he is fit!

Pellegrini can't give him assurances he will start every game and Micah knows he has other options so we have to have them as well.

I would be surprised if we signed Sagna considering there are other players out there but if Txiki/Pellegrini want him then who are we to argue, The guys know their onions.

Re: Sagna

Micah in his pomp was a flying brick, and a superb player, but he's almost never fit anymore and we can't carry him forever. I will miss him a lot if he goes and wish him all the best, but won't cry myself to sleep over it.

Sagna, unlike a younger bloke as good or better, will know that Zabba is the first choice and will be a world class backup.

As for Academy products, I'd expect to see Lopes, Huws, Rekik and potentially Guidetti all in and around the first team at times next season, so we can live with Micah heading to pastures new.

Re: Sagna

Micah isn't good enough, spends too much time injured and when he plays is often a liability, he is just too heavy really. Gunners forum consider Sagna one of if not their best defender and they want him to stay. Would be a decent addition I am sure

Re: Sagna

It's a good move. He's top drawer and we only need him for a season as Rekik will be coming through by then.

If Micah goes(and I'll be really sad if he does) well Rekik takes his homegrown slot and is eased into the team. But its important we have a short term fix for any injuries or suspensions to Zab and Sagna makes sense if Rekik is the future.
