Sagna was getting beaten for pace by Matt Jarvis amongst others two seasons ago. Sagna is painfully average now, I don't see where anyone gets this 8/10 RB nonsense from. The opposition LBs barely have any work to do when he's on the pitch. Literally all you have to do is stand there and wait for him to pass it inside - he won't take you on and he won't supply consistent quality crosses.

Off Arsenal Mania. Don't think he's a fan.

He probably wasn't a fan of Narsi, Fabregas etc when he was forced to accept they were off either!

I've not seen much/anything really of Sagna but for free, given his experience I'd take him

You'd take him - having seen nothing of him? Deary me.

He'd be a good backup for Zab, Richards is too injury prone to be relied upon unfortunately.

I've seen bits, he's a regular for Arsenal, he's free, experienced and is going to be back up. Why wouldn't I think he'd be a good signing?

John O'Shea was once a regular for Sunderland now bar a couple of games against us when he and Wes Brown somehow fucking transform into Franz Barasi and Sol Puyol they've been poor.

Re: Sagna

I think he'd be brilliant as a back up. Quick, strong, good crosser. Knows the league and the CL . I love Richards but not so sure it's in him anymore.

So you would take him without seeing him. How's things Sralex? Bebe is working out well.

Re: Sagna

Here's some statistics from Squawka on Zaba vs. Sagna. Now I am sure Zaba is better, but Sagna would be a quality backup.

BTW, Arsenal fanboy John Cross is saying Arsenal may cave in and break policy by offering him a 3-year contract so he could still stay... unless he wants to win the league before he retires. :P

Re: Sagna

Even if he's using us for contract negotiations, it suits us since it unsettles their team

Re: Sagna

Today I saw why we are very interested.Far too good to be a back up but if we can pull it off.......

Re: Sagna

Still not convinced he's our type of fullback. He's a good fullback, who has a decent cross on him, but I don't think he really threatens on the overlap in the way that we expect our fullbacks to do. He's not as direct a runner as Kolarov or Zaba and we really look a lot less impressive when we don't have those penetrative runs from the fullbacks

Re: Sagna

Quite frustrating watching him everything in the air only stopped when Garcia came on. Chelsea used the same tactic hitting it to Ivanovic whereas every time Joe hit it went to the opposition.
