Saint George of England.

But he was to the true English ie ,the Anglo Saxons, until the french/normans gave us george.

Yup but in reality it would be unusual to have a patron saint that is actually born in the country they preside over.

what the fk are you talking about ?
learn your history if you're a patriot or have an interest in history.
Richard the Lionheart was from the middle ages, during the Norman/French takeover of England.
St Edmund was from circa 500 years earlier in the Saxon era.

Richard The Lionheart brought St George over to replace Edmund and the new Saint was adopted by Edward, know your history and know what the fuck you are talking about.

The discussion is that Edmund WAS the patron saint but it is now George. Learn your history.

Saint George’s popularity in England began when King Richard the Lionheart visited a church dedicated to Saint George on his way to help with the first Crusade. It is believed that he and his men had a vision of the saint, which encouraged them in their battle. About 250 years later, King Edward III named Saint George as the patron saint of England, referring to him as “the most invincible athlete of Christ, whose name and protection the English nation invoke as that of their patron, especially in war.”

I am stating a fact, Edmund is not the official patron saint of England anymore. Your feelings don't matter on the subject.

There is a cult surrounding him in Bury St Edmunds but he isn't the patron saint of England.
