Salford has enough problems with those twats being falsely associated with it.
Always irritates me how many people think OT is in Salford. One of life's little bugbears.

I don’t believe I’ve ever heard / read someone refer to an area as West Manchester yet always hear East, South and North. It’s surely Salford even if just a colloquial name?

People can be very touchy about where they’re actually from. It’s a sense of identity for many.
Iv always described Salford as basically west Manchester to any out of towners who ask

Sorry if this causes any offence haha

I visit Salford more or less every other Saturday (coinciding with City home games) to do the Parkrun in Peel Park.
To me, it seems to be an area undergoing massive transformation. I'm not sure if the new developments are seen as "Manchester overspill" or Salford redevelopment in its own right. I did notice a banner up until recently saying "no to gentrification" but that seems to have been removed now.
Got to say that Peel Park is beautiful and a pleasure to run around, but I appreciate the City is full of contrasts and a good example of conflicts between established communities and new development.

My cousin has an apartment at the bottom of Chapel St/Blackfriars so I class it as the city centre.

As it's crossed over the River Irwell though it's classed as Salford and he pays he's council tax to them.

I'm pretty sure The Irwell is the boundary line

Always was when I was a nipper......

Do NOT GO OVER THE IRWELL.

Eccles had its own Town Hall and Magistrates Court until the arsewipes from Salford council had other ideas, ruined the whole town.
