Samir Nasri

Re: Nasri

The guy is a shit house. The polar opposite of Zaba he just has no balls and no fight in him. When things get tough he hides. Can tell he just goes through the motions and picks up his money at the end of the month like someone who works a boring 9-5 job. Can see him going the same way as Balotelli because the odd good game here or there isn't good enough for what he is paid.

Re: Nasri

His lack of bottle at times suprises me as he is from Marseille which is one tough City!

Re: Nasri

Really hope Txiki will see trough him.

He must on very big wages compared to what he gives to us.

He keeps the ball well, lol, his job is to create things, create chances, score some goals too etc.

The mistake we did is we went for him instead of Mata in 2011 summer. Mata and Silva would be much better together and I think Mata maybe on less money at Chelsea. And he had zero PL experience while Nasri spent years in PL.
Both cost 24m pounds but Nasri was on his last year of contract at Arsenal.

Mata has 8 goals ad 8 assists in the league this season.

Nasri has 1 goal and 3 assist.

And Mata did not have two good strikers ahead of him to give assists only that wasteful Torres.

We are wasteful too but Nasri creating nothing 90% of the time.

Unacceptable from a player we have as a creative force. He can keep the ball, wow. For 24m pounds taking a pace in the starting eleven is a little bit of joke. What about getting a player who can keep the ball but has the balls to score, create etc.
Especially the motivation to do these things.

If he just stands in that fucking wall in the derby now it is 4 points at worst.

We did well until he came back, we won the Norwich match after his sending off and won everything until QPR match.

Where he had to be subbed after 55 minutes.

I wouldnt put him into the team on Sunday. Maybe he could give more as a sub, some energy, some keeping the ball. But when we are going for a result, and we are slow anyway in the build ups, we cant have him in the team.

I want him sold in the summer, hope PSG will put in a bid for him.And hope we stop paying extra wages and extra prices for players like him.

Good post, and one I agree with totally.

This "he keeps posession" cliche winds me up too. He's not paid to keep possession, he's paid to create openings. There's even this wierd little cliche which does the rounds on here "he's a ball recycler". Biggest load of crap I've ever read, and one of those pieces of bullshit which the gullible take on face value and becomes "a truth".

You recycle something when it's finished. And our momentum is often finished when the ball reaches him, because he's not brave enough to anything but a simple backwards pass. So the only reason he's "recycling" the play is because he killed it in the first place.

We are a better team without him in it, I'm afraid. He may have some ability, it is apparent occasionally. But only very occasionally. So often with him in the team we end up knocking it around in non-dangerous areas, or our full back gets exposed because he doesn't get stuck in enough.

Re: Nasri

People would literally shit their pants if we had Mata. I mean it. Some might expire from shitting themselves to death after one match. One match and all we would hear is the moaning about how he just stands at the halfway line when we don't have possession. Of course someone is going to say that's what Nasri does which is a load of nonsense. None of our players stand there when we lose possession. The team doesn't always press high but they do come back to play positional defense.

My opinion is that people don't want to face our real problem. We don't cycle the ball fast enough in central midfield. I've been hopeful that Milner could partner Barry and that would speed us up a bit, but it doesn't seem to have happened as he's been too inconsistent with his passing and crossing.

This doesn't absolve Nasri, but the analysis of his play has devolved into oversimplified pap.

What on earth does that mean?

Absolutely. That lot are ahead of us due to the speed of their attacks, not just RVP. Collectively, our strikers are better. Nasri should improve, he will know that, but he's had injuries and suspension. Sad to see him made the new whipping boy. Seems to have got worse now Mario has gone and who now can do no wrong for many. Typical BM, I suppose. :(

It means that when our defenders give the ball to our central midfielders (not our wing players or more forward midfielders such as Silva) there's a nice three to five second pause as they figure out what to do with it, Dave. You know... that slow build up you and others are always complaining about. We could buy the fastest wingers in the world, but as of now, it won't increase our speed of play, i.e. how quickly we cycle from defense to midfield to attack. I'm fairly certain you know what I mean and you're simply trying to make a smug dismissal.

Re: Nasri

You made it up, mate. Funny.

I might make my own up. We "nasri" the ball a bit too much, ie, put our foot on it, take three touches, spin 90 degrees and pass it back to a holding midfielder.

There's far too much nasriing of the ball going on in the current City team.
