Santa Cruz

I agree with most of what has been said - it's not RSC's fault he's not match fit but you have to question MH for putting him on instead of Petrov?

If we were 3-0 up with 15mins left to go then fine, give the guy a chance and let him stretch his legs but that last night was a big gamble that MH lost... Poke in the eye or not it's obvious that RSC isn't ready yet!

If this year is truely the start of the blue revolution in Manchester (and I pray that it is) then we cannot afford to piss about taking risks like that... I know we lost the same fixture last year but we need to stop thinking that draws "will do" and realise that only wins will keep us up in the top 4.

Arse, Rags, Chelski and the bin dippers have all dropped points already - but they won't do that too often, we cannot afford to do it either.

Give RSC a break but please MH - don't use prem games to "try" him out!

Pile of sh*t last night needs some reserve games under his belt. Touch of a baby elephant could have cost us a goal last night. Looked like bit of old pals act by Hughes last night don't think he's gonna admit that Crocky isn't all that to the detrimant of a win for us last night

Take your mouth for a shit!

I was actuallly being very generous with that description of him

It's very early days yet but RSC looks exactly what he is-a big target man who's been out for the best part of a season.

It can't be coincidence that when Tevez went off after we scored we lost all attacking impetous.
Tevez works like a midfielder, and will drop back to hunt the ball if it's not happening up front.
RSC was waiting for the ball rather than go getting it-and his poor control and (understandable) lack of first touch set up Villa attacks on at least two occasions.

One thing you can't do in games like yesterday is let returning players find their feet.It will cost vital points.

Petrov for SWP and Bellamy on the right would've been a far better bet for me.With the head of steam we had built up,there was only going to be one winner after that equaliser.

But hey-fourth place into the international break with a game in hand on the scum...I'll take it.;-)

Roque got a Craig Bellamy finger in his eye almost immediately and was struggling. Almost all the time he was out there he was working with one eye.

Perhaps this had something to do with it too. People need to give him a chance, the lad hasnt played 90mins competitive football for months. We've all seen that he can deliver the goods, he just needs match fitness and to settle into our style of football.

From the signings Hughes has made so far he hasn't let us down, has he? And like Bellamy Hughes knows this player inside out and knows what he can bring to the team.

Personally, I trust the boss.

Me too.

Very poor managerial decision to a) blood an unfit stricker in such a tight game, and b) leave Petrov on the bench when he is one of our very in-form players. Last 20 last night Petrov could have caused havoc with a tiring Villa defence. Instead Santa Cruz looked like he was in a warm-up at Carrington.

Far too early to judge RSC although i've never been a big fan of his, but surely the reserves is a better place to lose his ring rust than one of our most important games of the season so far.

Hughes appears to be learning but still shows some major managerial frailties, imo!
