This is pretty neat with all kinds of stuff from all over the world :-)
I have that on my phone with an mhl to hdmi adaptor for the tv,it's better than lovefilm/Netflix and Sky on demand put together.

Does this work well using a phone or tablet (nexus7) ?
I was gonna buy a xbmc android box to plug into the back of the tv, but will just buy the adapter if it works just as good.

Apparently you can somehow stream your satellite box channels (I have a dreambox dm 800 hd system motorised system and an Apple TV 2 jailbroken ) onto xbmc ,so you could have the apple tv 2 with xbmc installed upstairs and just steam everything you have on your sat box to it .
I know it can be done but just don't know how ,if anyone has done this some help would be much appreciated .

Spent £5 on an adapter and it works perfectly (galaxy note 2).

ive recently got a VU+ duo box wired to my sky dish, and have paid for 12 months TV service from another source.

I open a new window on pc and enter ip address of VU+ box into the address bar, it opens up the box's menu onscreen and I can watch then through pc/laptop media player. I use a free app for watching it via ipad & galaxy S2.

If you type enigma2 into the appstore/itunes you will get loads of apps to connect to your box. also a remote control so you can control it over the network. depending on what image is on your box you should have the choice of a few plug ins too

XBMC..

Anyone use it on any sort of device? Any add ons that you can recommend? I seem to find good links but then next time they don't work, is this normal? Last chance saloon before I sign up for Aljazeera for the year as i've moved in with the in-laws and can't put my dish up, hate being stuck on 28.2!

I've installed it on my laptop. I'm only using 2 addons at the moment (Navi-x and Mashup). The amount of channels and links is staggering. I went to look at a movie last night and although the quality was good, the movie had chinese subtitles, but there are other links to the same movie so I'm sure its just a case of having a look at others and finding what you want. A HDMI cable does the job for putting it on your telly. I've not tried BT Sport or SkySports yet.

If someone has read the four pages of this thread and barely understood one single post, is it worth them exploring the option of whatever the hell you're all talking about in an attempt to save some money or should they just get a regular, more expensive, Sky package?
