Savic and his all round game

He will come good, he looked great in Europe.

Whether he rests him Wednesday we will have to see.

I would bring in Zabe...

I don't care how he plays.. it's experience that will serve him well. Kompany will come back in and he then has thinking time, and can learn from Vin.
Sensible post of the day. I thought he did well today until their goal, and we have no choice at the moment anyway, Nedum's effectively gone, and we need Richards down the right hand side. Another game he'll learn from, it was as much Joe's fault that goal, to become a top level central defender, you have to make mistakes and learn from them, he'll not learn by not playing. Its good to learn from a mistake that ultimately didn't affect the 3 points, so I hope he buys Mario a glass of wine tonight....

We obviously bought him cause Mancini thought he was good enough, he was bought not just to play against teams like Wigan. But to be able to handle it against the big clubs to if needed.

Is he ready yet? he shows glimpses of a tsteady footballer at times, everyone around me a HT were saying how he had a top half. Irrelevant, 45 minutes doesn't justify a good game.

After his little error his head went, he was clearly in a state of shock and played one of the most catastrophic passes i've ever seen, 5 yards from his own 18 yard line box moments after Spurs grabbed the equaliser.

Granted, yes he needs game time and he's gotta start somewhere to gain it. But for me he needs to go out on loan asap once were covered.

I really don't like criticising players, but he worries me and looks a liability at the moment. I want him to prove me wrong, i would love nothing more. But for me i just can't bare seeing him start in games at the moment.

I think this subject needs a bit more disecting. The question is, what was he bought for? Was he specifically bought for back up or was he bought as a raw youngster project. If he was bought as back up then whoever made the decision to sign him needs shooting. He simply nowhere near ready. On the other side, he really does have potential. He has qualities in abundance but his decision making is letting him down something chronic. At the moment he is costing us a goal a game. Unfortunately, this is something that only comes with experience and he has been dropped in the deep end. As for his physical qualities, they are top drawer.

Hang on, you loose the best CH in the premiership.
How are you ever going to replace VK. ??
What team has a ready made replacemant for their top player. ??
He had a good game at Wigan and it was Lescott who was flaping there.
Made a bad judgement but Harts positional play left a lot to be desired.
He is a great passer of the ball, far better than Lesott an VK an is always looking to get forward.
Top of the league for fucks sake lets not disect our players.

Thought he was good today, don't blame him for the first goal at all, he did everything he could and Hart misjudged the situation. I also think Hart should have done better with the 2nd too, he essentially got lobbed from 20 yards with half his own team in the penalty area.

The only criticism of Savic was his decision making at the end which led to the Defoe miss, but decision making comes with experience. No worries for me, he'll be a very good player in a few years.

He makes mistakes but is young so it is to be expected. It is a different deal being a young cb versus a young forward/winger. In this game he was accountable for the first goal with the problem being him thinking he could get the ball instead of staying with defoe. The last chance was also by his doing when he tried to lift and lost the ball being out of position. There was also a chance where defoe came almost free but was cornered out by lescott. That chance hadnt occured if savic had followed lescott to put defoe offside. You could clearly see lescott complaining about it afterwards.

I think he is for the future. I really like him on the ball but sometimes his decision making is poor. This will come with age and experience.

League titles are won by very fine margins. For me he's currently a liability. We need Vinny AND Kolo back...

As others have said, Savic needs to go on loan to another Prem club to learn about the league, toughen up, and smarten up.

For where we are going and the results we need to get there, hes not up to it. Not because he's a bad player but, inexperienced. Only time will tell if hes got what it takes.

You make it sound like we've given them 2 weeks off for a break. We've got no choice at the moment, not many teams in the Premiership have a better 4th choice centre half.
