Bellamy's Caddy said:He was undoubtedly one of the best players of his generation, when Beckham was getting the plaudits, Scholes was the real genius in that side. Not many players can dictate the pace of a game the way Scholes could.
As a City fan, it used to be a great frustration that very rarely in derby games could we get to grips with him. However, it's got to be said that he's one of the dirtiest players to ever play in the Premier League. Aside from all the bookings and red cards he received, there were many he got away with. Fantastic player? Yes. Bad tempered, poor sportsman? Also Yes.
I wouldn't say bad tempered, just bad timing with his tackles. Someone said in a docu, it might have been Zidane, that Scholes takes a picture of where the spaces are before receiving the ball and for the last few years I have noticed this alot more. A quick look over the shoulder then distributes a perfect pass that splits the defence. This season in the community sheild he destroyed Chelsea on his own. A local lad that did his area proud.
