Edinburgh is just too busy and having done it to death id give it a wide birth now.

i like it

Haha thought I recognised that view, stayed there for my 50th when the good lady treated me with the Tattoo and a trip on the Northern Belle a bloody fancy train.
Hope you had a good time :-)
Had my graduation ball/ piss up there nearly 40 years ago, God I feel old.

Did a road trip last year round the top. Lovely scenery. Bought five bottles of midge repellent as I usually get bit at the airport when going abroad! Didn't open one and no bites though did see loads of them in the sands of Dunnet Bay or are they just sand flies? Annoying all the same!

Going to Edinburgh for three days in August for my cancelled tattoo from last year!

I love our UK countries and I'm off to Wales and Ireland this month as well.

It's a beautiful place. Been there lots of times, mainly for the golf but more so now for the beaches and walking with the dog. The Roxbrough used to be our 'bolt hole', I think it's been sold now but it used to be wonderfully eccentric, dogs roaming around, fishing gear and wellies in the foyer, good golf course and excellent food. We're off to Sandhead near Portpatrick in May, it's a bit of a trek but caravan right on the beach wonderful for the dog. Every region has something to offer whether it's mountains, moorland or fabulous pine forests.

Sandhead and Portpatrick are stunning
The in laws have a farm in the area

So many stunning locations . The road to Lochcarron and then up to Applecross . Ullapool and the scenic coastal routes all the way up to Durness and Tongue . Dornoch and the coastal nature reserve there . And if i go up on my motorcycle the road from Tomintoul to Braemar . That passes though the Lecht , Glenshee and finally down into Braemar . Stunning .
