Then let's hope we get a price on him.

If he's going to Rodgers and the Dippers he's got to be worth at least £20m...

Just Downing's £6m will do for me, plus a sell-on cut. Then we should have no problem in getting our money back.
£6m is a fair price, but they do have a habit of paying wayyyyy over the odds why not make em sweat!!!!

Update :

1251:
LATEST TRANSFER GOSSIP
West Brom boss Steve Clarke has confirmed talks are ongoing with Manchester City over signing winger Scott Sinclair.

"I know there was initial contact between the clubs and I know there has been continued contact between the clubs," Clarke said.

"Beyond that, I don't know if we are close to a deal or if we are far away from a deal. There are still talks ongoing at this moment in time."

Re: Scott Sinclair. WBA?

I am not pretending to be ITK but I have heard that the delay is that we are insisting that he plays in both games against us

I think this will end up being a good move for him. I feel sorry for him.

When people tell me we've ruined James Milner's career I always disagree, but when people say we've ruined Sinclair's career I have to just nod my head. A poor signing.

I feel a degree of sympathy for the lad, he's had limited chances and hasn't shown anything, maybe this was too much of a step up for him so I do wish him well wherever he goes.

That said, what is it with this guy.... It took an age to sign him I seem to remember, the deal was on/off more times than Colleen's knickers and now its the same with trying to sell him!!

Re: Scott Sinclair. WBA?

The delay I've been told by a WBA supporter is something to do with WBA having to talk to Swansea about some clause or other. Not sure what.

Would this be anything to do with WBA only wanting him on loan, but Swansea wanting a 'sell-on clause' payment if he moves away from City, and with it being a loan move, Swansea are feeling cheated out of money?

Possibly. Apparently WBA talking to Swansea was reported in the Birmingham Evening Mail

West Brom manager Steve Clarke close to signing Manchester City winger Scott Sinclair
Steve Clarke is on the verge of signing Manchester City winger Scott Sinclair after West Bromwich Albion tabled an improved loan offer.

Clarke, the Albion head coach, could complete a deal in the next 48 hours that will see Sinclair move to the Hawthorns for the season with a view to a permanent £4 million transfer.

Sinclair is understood to be keen on joining Clarke's squad after a difficult 12 months and Albion have stepped up negotiations in the last few days.

City have demanded a £2 million fee for the 24-year-old and Albion are inching closer towards an agreement that will also ensure they pay a large portion of his wages.

Clarke has already signed Nicolas Anelka, Matej Vydra and Diego Lugano this summer but Sinclair has been a priority target after the former Swansea wideman was told he could leave the Etihad Stadium

Re: Scott Sinclair. WBA?

A loan option is bad for us and the player. Needs to be moved on permanently

Re: Scott Sinclair. WBA?

haha good

i never trust a transfer till its on the os, there are too many other distractions
: family, agents, money, length of contract etc etc

i was told by impeccable sources that hazard and isco were in the bag only to be let down and deflated later. i'm stronger now and will not spend the money from victor until i see it on our os! ;)
