Are you sure about that? I was under the impression that there's free trade within the EU and as such they're not subject to any import taxes (with the possible exception of alcohol/tobacco).
And Scotland were voted into the EU when exactly?!
Another of Salmond's statements of fact which is not his decision to make. The EU insist that new members sign up to usage of the Euro, not instantly, but certainly within a timescale that isn't too lengthy. That's not what Salmond wants, or has said will happen, so therefore no EU.
