Scottish Independence

give over with your bollox.

Scotland had an independence referendum before the uk voted on brexit and the Scottish NATIONALIST party have always had it as their main goal .

stop blaming brexit for the snp trying to seek independence for Scotland. They would use anything they can to achieve their goal. Good luck to them.

The SNP have and always will want seperation

Brexit and the overwhelming Tory minority has given them a huge boost in their aims.

I dont blame any Scots who back them as when they voted to stay things were somewhat different.

In my view they are quite entitled to make their own decision as to whether they remain under tory rule and indeed whether they wish to be part of the EU.

There are plenty of good reasons why not. I am English and whilst i favour leaving the EU have no wish to be part of a country lead by Boris.

To deny them the choice is wrong.

No not you.
Just saying nationalism, English or otherwise isn't a problem in itself. It can be but doesn't have to be.

Luckily the Union that is Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland isn't going anywhere soon imo.

More devolution for Scotland and Wales and Stormont up and running again is whats needed and yes, the Tories have been given the chance to deliver and deliver they better had.

I don't think so either, but it is a volatile situation at the moment because of Brexit and YES, how Boris and his advisers perform over the next year will have a great impact one way or the other.

Agreed but i think you have to give the Scots a chance to cement or sever that union given the polar difference in which voters either side of Hadrians wall voted in both the Brexit referendum and subsequent elections.

I don't understand your latter point. Why will UK companies move to Scotland to get single market access? The whole point of the next Brexit phase is to negotiate single market access. Even Canada has single market access.

Scotlands two major export destinations are the rest of the UK and the USA. If Scotland leaves, they will lose out on UK trade and they will lose out on any benefits gained from a future US trade deal.

They trade almost 10x more with the UK than they do with the entirety of the EU.

Leaving the UK would be a total disaster for them.
Canada doesn't have single market access for services. The large financial institutions in London are already moving some operations to the EU to maintain their position. Having Edinburgh as an option would likely be attractive to them.
