Season Ticket Pricing as a result of Stadium Expansion

I got a letter this morning asking me if I wanted to stump up £100 to reserve a shite seat in level three ! My initial thought was "why would I want to sit in level three" I have no clue why they are sending it to me. and my second thought was why they thought it was in anyway a tempting offer

I`ve been in CBL3 for years and IMO I have one of the best seats in the stadium.By the way we all seem to have had a letter.

I have sat in level three or occasional games but I'm very happy with where I am at the moment. There may come a time when I want to add a season card for my daughter but it feels like I'm being given an ultimatum with this letter.

The grim truth is that loyalty doesn't matter to City. Money does.

It was City who introduced the practice of selling loyalty to fans who pay £50 extra for a season ticket.

There is not one person on here who, if they had a business where they knew they could get a higher price for what they were selling, would not do exactly that.

Whilst this is true for selling a single product, following a football club is more akin to using a supermarket whereby the customer can be coerced into buying additional products - kit, pies, beer etc.. You may sell your initial product at a higher price, but how much extra will that person buy and for how long. A long term supporter has already demonstrated loyalty that is still an unknown for the new buyer. Supermarkets address this through their loyalty card schemes and City do a similar thing via the points system. It's about finding a balance between retaining the very important support and generating the very important extra revenue. Perhaps the points system isn't enough any more, maybe the club need to start rewarding those fans in other ways.

Haha.If only that was true.I have already stated that if I have to dig a bit deeper into my pockets then so be it.However I will have to make sacrifices and if that means not attending cup games, then yes,I`ll give them a miss and concentrate on PL games only. This is nothing new,as Khaldoon spelt this out some 2 years ago.

This is spot on - It's not just the low paid that struggle to pay the current fees. Once you have the season ticket which is going up significantly every season you also have to pay for cup games which if they fall wrong can be upto £200 a month extra for a couple of people say (father and son). This is hard work for most people not just low paid.

Why do you think league cup and FA cup games struggle to sell out - Its because the game is getting to expensive.

Sick of people comparing us with say arse - They are in london were pay is significantly more on average than the north west. yes we are probably on a par with the Rags but thats because they also rip off their supporters and have the demand so don't care.

If you look at the surrounding areas of the ground I expect many are on less than average pay and would be welcome - they don't have to be tourist.

It's about time owners of clubs started to look at the longer term picture - football is flavour of the month now and especially at Cioty but things can change very quickly.

Where do I start. First of all FA Cup & League Cup games don't sell out and this is despite the Club pitching most games at £15/20, hardly a rip off is it? Secondly we are not on a par with the rags they are more expensive in almost every department, ticket prices, merchandise etc. Are you seriously suggesting that the Club don't look at the long term picture with everything that is going on with the new Training Academy, Stadium Expansion and the soon to be announced developments on the Collar Site. I do wish people would stop slagging off the "tourists" & corporates, if they choose to support City then that should be welcomed by all of us, they don't have to roll up and spend there money. But it sure does help us when it comes to FFP compliance. Having said all that I can fully appreciate some people struggle when it comes to choosing what they spend their disposable income on and if some people are eventually priced out of attending football then that will be a sad day. But lets at least applaud the Club in trying its best to make it easier/cheaper for the supporters to attend and long may that continue.

It certainly was not my intention to slag corporates or tourists off just using the " tags" to identify certain newcomers.

To be honest I'm not bothered who buys my ticket once I stop buying it ,because as I said I won't be there.

Just trying to feedback the point that if City are worried already about atmosphere/acoustics wait till the new customers arrive and see how it is affected then.

Every FA cup game sold out last season due to reasonable pricing. This wouldn't have been the case if tickets had been £40+. The demand is there with sensible pricing. Larger attendance for Watford than Bayern Munich tells you a lot.

In fairness the capacity for the Bayern game was reduced by some 2000+ ,due to UEFA policies on advertising.

Yes and it still didn't sell out.
