Season Ticket Pricing as a result of Stadium Expansion

I really don't understand how the possible release of thousands of cheaper seats due to a stadium expansion has caused all this debate over pricing.

Accept that the club is doing something good. Moan about your own ticket price if it increases disproportionally when or if it does happen.

According to the new seat planner the price of my seat in 110 is increasing post expansion

And the vast majority of seats will continue to increase in price over the coming years. It's how it is nowadays.
I can genuinely understand people being priced out of watching the games. Platinum SC's and the cup schemes are a
luxury that many cannot afford. Away games are well beyond the reach of a lot of people. £52 for West Ham & £56 for
Chelsea before you even step out of the door is a big dollop of cash.

I hope the £299 season tickets are not just a gimmick but a genuine scheme to allow real City fans the opportunity
of watching the team they have followed all their life. However supply & demand will dictate as always.

I only struck with all the schemes and Platinum due to the 4 payment offer.

Next season I may well drop to a Gold and drop the CL games as apart from the new away fans I'm surrounded by 'click clickers' and added to generally refereeing that makes Poll look like he was world ckass , its too expensive for me in these tight times.

I get the impression judging from many replies to this issue on BM that most couldn't care less about Blues being priced out of watching city as long as they are alright jack.

My concern isn't just about being priced out but also the demographics changing inside the stadium so even if I wanted to go and watch City, I wouldn't enjoy myself sat amongst thousands of new fans who have chosen City as their BPL team.

Would you still enjoy going to the stadium if it was packed full of Tourists and the like, with little to no traditional matchday atmosphere?

I've been at City matches in recent times when we've had superb atmosphere in League matches then a week later I've stood at the same seat for the Real Madrid game and it's been flatter than a pancake, crammed with Tourists whilst Burnage Barry watches it down in the Pub.

This type of fan will increase as prices go up.

We are not, we're not really here
We are not, we're not really here
Just like the fan of the Invisible man we're not really here

Although I now live in Spain. I fear for the fans who like me have gone to games and supported City with there pockets for decades. This is why City or the fans must do something now to create a singing section to maintain the match day atmosphere .( Before it is lost to out of town followers) and lost to generations of young blues who will never get the chance to savour what it means to sing on top note for your team.
Some of were lucky to have had the Kippax and north stand let's create the same at the Etihad.

I sincerely hope City have priced these new season tickets correctly.

For 2 reasons.

1. I hope and want as many missing City fans to come back as possible.

2. I want both stands expanded at the same time. Having only 1 stand expanded(the South Stand) due to a poor response will make the Etihad look odd.

As it is it's a great stadium. With both ends expanded it will be a magnificent stadium.

The club made a massive(arf!) mistake when we moved from Maine Road. It took years to correct. The club now has another chance to get it right. Don't mess it up again!
In what way was it a massive mistake to move from Maine Road.

Should have worded it better.

The way the fans were relocated.

Many People who had sat next to each other for years were separated. No consideration was given to that when we moved to the new stadium. Hence one of the reasons why the atmosphere was dire for years after the move.

Apart from my two friends who were sat near me, everyone else sat around me was new and I didn't know them. It took a few seasons to build up new friendships.

In fact, the lad sat to the right of me never spoke to me once the who time I was sat there, and that was for 5 seasons. Work that one out? Eventually the 3 of us moved. My mates headed North to the 3rd tier, and I headed South to the to the 1st tier.

Thankfully the club are giving the fans the opportunity to sit with family and friends.

I suppose that answers my question/concerns. :-)

Agreed that part of the move was a cock up.

I don't agree.

ST holders were given the opportunity to take the corresponding seat at CMS (as it was then) as they'd had at Maine Road.

Admittedly, we had to pay for the first year's ST at CMS well ahead of usual, but practically all those who sat around me at Maine Road were still there at CMS.

Season ticket pricing will always cause controversy.

I have been a season ticket holder since 1975 and so have some of my children later on.

The only thing I have found dissappointing with our new owners is that they are raising the price of season tickets to high levels in certain areas.

It now cost e over a grand for season tickets and around £90 for decent CL game - with FA and League cup schemes it can be an extra £150 a month. I earn well above the average and it is still hard to justify all the cost at times . I find myself at times hoping we get an easy away tie rather than a game at home in the cups.

People may say why not move, but I sit with friends so unless we all want to move and can get seats together which isn't easy we just put up with it.

What will probably happen is that once the first guy can't afford his tickets and stops coming then the rest will start to follow.

My season tickets have gone up over 10% in the last two years average pay rises are 2%. Sooner or later family will become the priority.

It's becoming a richer mans game, I'm sure the majority would like a minor decrease in season ticket prices and tougher negotiations with players on wages which have become obscene
