Season Tickets - 2025/26 | Changes to ticket transfer this season (p101)

USELESS !!!

Just a city mouthpiece them lot. They’ll get told what to fucking say
As you're both clearly master negotiators who know how to get your way, why don't you stand next time there's a vacancy?

But you won't because you're all mouth and no fucking trousers, and wouldn't want to put any of the effort the current reps put in to help your fellow fans.

My preference would be for the Club to leave it alone as this point. We’ve got 7k or 8k of extra seats to fill.

That said, if they aren’t ditching flexi-gold I can understand them wanting a certain degree of consistency in ticket policy. It would be bizarre if the much hated flexi-gold required attendance at ten game but the full season card accepted attendance (by the card holder) at less.

In addition, I’ve heard Danny Wilson talk about the integrity of the points system and to me it’s bollox. That said, there’s posters who derided supporters club members for jumping the ticket queue when it turns out some of the critics don’t fancy turning up for half our home games. Not only that, we are told that flexi-golds ( I could take or leave them) are a threat to generational supports but a zero attendance requiring season card is the panacea.

Like I say, I would have left it alone, mainly for the risk of unforeseen consequences that tend to happen each time the ticketing system is revised.

I agree with most of what you have to say and am concerned too many people are going to be caught in the cross-fire with an extra 8000 seats to fill next season. They seem to bring in these policies in the belief we have the same size fanbase as those on the dark side of Manchester which simply isn't true.

As has been mentioned I highly doubt those that don't meet this new criteria will be re-sold as a new season ticket and instead be turned into an overpriced matchday ticket.

I don't think they've thought this through. People were practically giving seats away this season to some fixtures with the demand dropping on the Face Value sites. They should have waited at least a couple of seasons until the attendances with the new stand had been accounted for.

Just as for the utilisation 10 games has become 14 and 14 has now become 16.

They might require us to personally attend 10 this season but next season that’ll increase again without serious push back.

Exactly what I was alluding to.

I'd love to see the data the club have on this, and know all the ins and outs if their arrangements with third parties. As far as I know all the third party stuff the club "officially" does is for corporate only (including 93.20). I suspect the club isn't entirely sure themselves how away fans end up on home terraces. I know one of the lads near me who is the angriest about "tourists" bragged about how selling his Real Madrid ticket a few years ago basically paid for his season card that year. It's a bit of a mess, some of it of the club's making, 100%, but I think there's a fair few season card holders who take the piss as well. I just don't think there's easy solutions.
Soriano and the Directors have lost the fans so that every admin. issue is seen as a money-making scam.

Two weeks ago I had an op.
I wanted to keep my season ticket as a way of 'motivating' myself to get back on my feet, but had to transfer the Palace game as I knew I wouldn't make it.

The Villa game WAS far more realistic, that's until they brought the game forward a week.
That announcement came a day before my op!

Moving forward I may have to book further treatment in the international break!
I'm sure the NHS will be able to fit around the constantly changing fixture list.

I know my comments are a touch glib, but the reality is season ticket holders love the club. That's why people spend a huge chunk of their wages following the club.
There'll be plenty on here who've missed weddings, birthdays etc... to attend games, but this is a kick in the knackers for their loyalty of committing in May to the next 12 months.

There are also fans who play summer sports.
I know those who wont transfer a ticket because the forecast is for rain!
Where does this leave them????

IMO this isn't about improving the atmosphere, by having a full stadium. If that was the case the tickets would go to people at affordable/discounted prices. This is about maximising profit.

100% this will happen. If we keep being a top side if we drop down the table for long periods they’ll be begging ex season card holder to come back by that time it’ll be too late

There are also those who play football on a Saturday, whether that is amateur, semi-professional or even professional who have been going since they were kids.

How many in their 40s/50s/60s have done the same in their 20s and 30s and have now come back to being match goers once that time in their life has gone?

I know of one professional who obviously cannot go on Saturdays but does make the Sundays and midweek games and even brings his son/nephew/cousin with him.

Not only will he be punished now but the kid will as well as he won’t be able to go with anyone.

In their place will be once a season fans who can afford to spend £71 on a ticket plus the rest and the two long standing city match goers will have to settle to watching it on TV.

When currently the fan and the club get the best of both worlds.

Pure greed.

Agreed. I think there are some conspiracy theories knocking about, and some fans need to take a longer look at themselves when it comes to their own ticketing habits, but conspiracy theories grow when there is a lack of trust or transparency in a system.

And the obvious and easy solution here is cheaper match tickets generally, underpinned with some sort of loyalty/points system, and a clear and transparent season card waiting list. It's silly for people to have a season card if they can only come to 8 or 9 games a season, but it's even sillier for it still to be cheaper for them to keep the season card.

This season's 10 game usage policy that included listing it on the exchange or transferring it was sensible, but now they're taking the piss. Yet again a policy to reduce the amount of season ticket holders. If they were really arsed about ticket usage, they could increase the 10 game usage to something like 15 and still include transfer/exchange. Charge reasonable matchday prices and those tickets would sell unlike this season where they've gone crazy.

Personally as a long as a City fan is able to fill the seat of an ST holder when they can't make it I don't mind how many games they miss. This new 10 game policy that doesn't include transfer/exchange is (deliberately) far too harsh.

The club will just do what they want anyway so fuck them. Making season ticket holders feel like a burden.

It's not silly for them to retain a season ticket no matter how many games they attend. They do so as they are guaranteed entry for nineteen games and know exactly where they are sitting in the stadium. Many of them will have been going for years and even if they only started their season ticket when we moved to the new stadium in 2003 that is now 22 years. What I do agree with is they should place it onto the exchange if they can't attend for whatever reason. Before the ticket exchange existed I retained my season ticket even though I knew that me working away meant I'd be lucky to make 10-12 games a season. The club didn't care less then if I was there or not then, or that my season ticket proved very expensive per game for me, much more so than paying individually for games I could attend. I did so for the reasons I've already mentioned.
If matchday tickets were cheaper and easily obtainable it would help, but you could still be spending every game in different parts of the stadium, like some kind of nomad.
If my season ticket went for whatever reason I would simply stop attending games forever. Even if they started selling tickets for £20 a game I wouldn't go on principle. I certainly wouldn't pay £71 a game. We can't sell out a 52,000 stadium now after one patchy season in about ten. Good luck with selling out 62,000.

I was initially opposed to having to list your ticket or let someone else use it. But its so easy to do I don't think it's that big an imposition.

The test on seasoncards will be in the ticketing of the new stand. If we do a Liverpool and only issue 1,000 season tickets, then it will become clear that the club is squeezing seasoncards.

There won't be any. They'll try and claim the FG moving to SC constitutes "new SCs" or they'll use the extra FG they issue as "new SCs"

As clever as the club thinks they are, both of these can't be true

I agree. I think next year may be my last as a season ticket holder under these new rules.

I live in Glasgow and have a long term health condition that can flare up at any time, I also sometimes work on a Sunday. In a good year get to about 12 games a year. In a bad year when health not good has been a lot less than 10 games a year. That is a mixture of league and occasional cup game. Health reasons aside West coast trains have let me down on numerous times getting down to games though now use Megabus to get down to Manchester and far more reliable.

Been going to City games at Maine Road since 1984 and a season ticket holder for 15 years. Often transfer my ticket to fellow blues on here (rather than City ripping someone off like the £71 v Villa for my SS3 seat) but if not always put on the exchange. Now seems like I'm the type of person this new policy is designed for to get my season ticket off me/so the club can cash in on individual match day prices.

I may add the seat beside me has been empty for about 90% of this season, so I assume whoever owns that does not put up for sale on the exchange. By all means punish these people for not giving supporters the chance to attend and fill the seat, but don't include other loyal supporters like me.

I think the difference between you and the current SC rep is stark in that regard. Granted, I'm not privy to what goes on but purely on communication alone, we hear and see nothing

I can't get my head around people who buy a season ticket which by definition is supposed to be used to attend a seasons worth of games are angry that they are now being made to attend at least half of them?, are these people the type to purchase a season ticket just to secure their seat for the bigger games and leave it empty for the remainder ?

The club will be dancing in the street reading this thread. Heartbreaking to see people talking of giving it up.

People don't like being lectured and dictated to and living under a veiled threat. Many of us have seen and done it all now following City. Football is supposed to be entertainment and an escape from the humdrum constraints and reality from work and everyday living. At the moment attending games feels like going to see a category A prisoner rather than watching a game of football. The club have to be very very careful.
