Seasoncard - 2021/22

Emotionally they've got you as they have all of us. If you cancel they won't give a fuck, you'll just get some kid on the phone if you call in who probably doesn't even like football. One of the many on the waiting list will take your place, no impact on the club whatsoever, harsh but true.

The club could sometimes make more of the fans. Look at Pete the badge. He's known everywhere, a colourful eccentric character, travels from the London area to attend games and has for years. He often books B+B's and stays overnight. He's probably in his 70's. They could scrub him up a bit, promote him for good publicity, make him a mascot or something. They could reward him a bit, maybe put him up in a local hotel overnight, Free seasoncard, something, anything but they do nothing. They give players that have been here ten years a seasoncard for life but a fan who's been here 50+ years gets bugger all.
Pete gets the train from Milton Keynes , good post Paul.

Not a fucking chance am I going to que for hours when I have already bought my ticket to be dealt with by someone who really doesn’t give a shit about customer service

This was bound to have issues but it’s costing some people more to buy a phone suitable for the ticket download

How can this be right

All this will do is put people off getting a Season card

That's the thing fans just used to pay their money, get their ticket/card, end of story. They're now being asked to jump through more and more hoops to go to a game. Covid we understand, the rest is just unnecessary stress added by the club.

So the least expensive option we have is to pick a ticket up from the ground, which isn't too bad if there isn't a big queue. If every other ticket is a digital one then there shouldn't be. However what about unsold tickets on line? Are they selling them at the ground on the day? If so the queue will be bigger.

It's okay people saying buy a new phone/printer/ go to somewhere that prints tickets for 50p. People have paid hundreds of pounds for the privelege already, they shouldn't have to.

I thought that myself about the fobbing off but didn't know about pop up stand ( cheers will let him know on Sunday)
I've got the my ticket on phone but I'm still worried something will go wrong and will miss half the bloody game...
Bloody phone is temperamental and the Internet is intermittent so if I have to prove I'm double jabbed it could be a problem.
Screenshot the vaccination QR code, saves any internet issues....I assume they'll take it as legit especially if you've no signal.

Can't see anyone asking anyway.....had zero checks at the Everton game.

I don't think your ticket relies on an internet connection, it should be stored on the phone okay as it is.

A little tip for the NHS QR code is to screenshot that page at home before you go (even now, as it's valid for 30 days each time you download it). Then this will be stored in your photos rather than you needing internet or 4G to download on the NHS app when at the ground. Hope that makes sense.

Cheers mate.. I know ticket works on nfc not Internet but didn't think of screenshotting NHS app thing.. Nice one..
I'm not great with technology

When I lived in Kent I got group travel with the London supporters club. That was back in 1987 and he was on the train then. I think he now lives in Leighton Buzzard but I could be mistaken.

People mock when you mention some reward for loyalty, you only have to see some of the "Stay at home then" comments on here for people struggling with this new concept, but I think it's important.

And like I said you would not be forced to create a bank account. You can purchase prepaid cards.

You are the one that is bringing up this theory of the club ignoring non spenders. It is not a real thing. People also decide to spend their hard earned money on the club by the way so I don’t know why you are bringing up some random trips.
Random trips ! Is your user name where you live. Trust me the 2 trips I mentioned are not random.
They happen.

Yes, you're right that it will put people off, but it's something the clubs have decided they need to do due to the actions of touts, people wanting something for nothing like people who use IPTV instead of paying Sky and BT. I'm not judging people for doing these things, just saying this is the consequence, the businesses that lose income fighting back. The clubs were faced with having to upgrade their entry systems and this is what City decided to upgrade to.

I don't want to tempt fate, but you just don't know that you would have to queue for hours or that person doesn't give a shit about customer service. You're dismissing these solutions and making these assumptions to justify your resistance to change, but this is always happening, like bank closures happened, like cheques made way for cards, only this time it's something that really matters to us. It's a big change I agree, but you have to give it time to see how it works.

Not resisting change

Stated before I downloaded my ticket no problem but the issue is I can’t download my lads

I also understand that not everyone is tech savvy

Fuck me when Covid hit I had to explain to my old feller how far 2m was because he didnt do metric measurements

A lot of our fans don’t stream the games or play Fifa they look forward going to the game meeting up with like minded fans having a beer and a laugh
