Seasoncard Prices - 2021/22

I think football has a major challenge on its hands - despite an inevitable enthusiasm by supporters to return to stadiums - I'm really not sure football can or should expect full stadiums going forward. I very much doubt the TV companies will want to reduce the number of games they show and having broken the habit of attending games and having learned to spend money elsewhere for a couple of years - an awful lot of people will have broken habits - which they may not necessarily return to - that includes attending sports events, going to the gym, going to the pub etc. It may even be that we do things but we do them less often. The world will be changed by this pandemic and we would all be foolish to assume that we will all return to our own ways. The authorities and clubs have long taken football fans for granted - late kick offs on the south coast etc... As many have said - revenue from supporters (non corporate) is really not that important to clubs and reducing prices to fill stadiums might entice people back and give the TV companies the product they want - lets face it football being played in empty stadiums is crap. Seriously if I was City I'd drop prices by 20 per cent for existing season ticket holders.
I don't know what City will do about season card prices.
Perhaps they will be frozen, increase in line with inflation or maybe a small discount 10-15%.
I would like to see a 2 year season card introduced at perhaps 1.5 times the cost of a single year season card.
Not every supporter who went to matches pre covid will be chomping at the bit to return. An incentive may be needed to encourage those people to renew
What with ridiculous staggered kick offs, theatrical diving and some VAR decisions for example, people are becoming disillusioned with 'the matchday experience' and will vote with their feet bystaying away.
There are advantages on both sides for a 2 year card I believe, for example, reduced admin costs for the club and as a 'welcome back' gesture for supporters.
Or.the club could allow free admission to a couple of cup games possibly?.

The price is obviously very important but the major issue with a lot of people (fully vaccinated or not) is feeling safe and a worry of bringing Covid home after a game.

Without knowing how crowds are going to work inside, travel issues, KO times etc the list is almost endless. There'll be some trepidation returning for some.

I hope the club who I think we can all agree have been brilliant during the pandemic with refunds, not taking advance payments etc get this right too.

I was chatting to a lad I know today who is a rag ST holder. He said they have had an email talking about 21/22 season and pretty much implying it won’t be full stadiums and they will be holding a ballot for ST holders each game. If you are one of those that can attend then you will be automatically removed from the ballot for the next game. They have also given them the option of giving next season a swerve but still having the right to a ST the one after, although maybe in a different seat. Doesn’t sound too promising from that for a full return next season despite what Boris is saying. He is a rag though so might be bullshitting!

You can’t beat the buzz of a match day but I’m debating whether to join a golf club instead...

The challenge is having a seat that is so great in terms of value for money that it’s a no-brainer (or was last time we paid) to renew

That looks a likely scenario to myself, sad to say.

West Ham reported yesterday that they've had a record first week sales for season tickets for next year. Liverpool sales have started and both offer a defer option if supporters don't fancy it.

They also offer a ticket transfer option for family and friends if they can't make the odd game, something City have closed down as an option.

Spurs are on sale too. Frozen in the first phase. "Season Ticket Holders wishing to share their ticket with friends or family members can use Ticket Share and the Exchange scheme will be operating too"
