Seasoncard Renewals | Slight Price Increase

This will come as a surprise to a huge number of our supporters (those who don't go to home games and those who leave early), but the club thanks us for our loud, loyal and passionate (or words to that effect) support after every home game. Isn't that enough? Do we expect consideration as well?
It's like NHS workers wanting a pay rise after having been clapped on doorsteps for a couple of months. Appreciation costs nowt.

completely agree. I like we offer students cheaper tickets. However these students often aren’t city fans and we aren’t going to grow our fanbase with them. We’d be much better off offering locals those cheap tickets…. Long term it would benefit hugely

uni students who don’t support us get cheap tickets, but locals who the club was made for are priced out. Makes no sense
Absolutely spot on pal

As you hold great store by the quality of football on show, against cost, presumably you are consistent and would bin City off if we ever end up shit again?

You know, with your value for money/quality of football comparison.

Unfortunately, most long term fans don't think like that. They are here for City, good or bad, not because we are winning loads and that makes it value for money.
The club doesn’t really care about long term fans tho that’s the harsh reality. That’s why they jumped into bed with the super league at first chance and only shit the bed and backed out to save face. The reality is the more successful the club are, supply and demand the ticket prices are going to increase.

The 1894 group are quick to raise funds off hard going fans but moan when the club ask for 50p extra a game.
Think its a bit unfair having a go at the 1894 group, they're one of the few groups of fans we have that put a lot of time and effort into trying to improve the atmosphere, with very little financial help from the vast majority of us.
If they've mentioned their view on the season ticket rises, and you see it as a moan, that's fair enough.
I personally think it could have been a lot worse considering the fantastic football we're watching.

They might not support us but get tickets because those who do support us either can't or won't, go to certain games.
The club seems to have a good idea of the price points to sell out for almost every game. And they don't care who they sell out to.
That’s a interesting one.

How do you propose to check out casual to weed out tourists, Dippers, and Rags?

It is obviously disgraceful that the club are not instituting a test where applicants are blindfolded and asked searching questions and eliminating anyone with a Norwegian or a Cockney accent.

It is strange that those who claim that they would never enter a Champions League match yet get really disturbed if City takes steps to fill the seats they have vacated?

Just seen the 1894 statement what a disgrace. The price is the price mine is £425 it's a bargain
The 1894 statement isn’t just a criticism of the increase, though in the face of record profits and falling living standards it is unjustifiable and with ten increases in 11 years we’re in boiling frog syndrome territory here.
It’s also a criticism of the total lack of consultation with supporters on literally everything, the Super League fiasco last year, the removal of supporters to make way for enlarged advertising hoardings and an ever expanding corporate section. Unless people speak out then this lack of consideration for fans will only keep going in one direction.
We need more supporter representation not less, and even if you don’t agree with their statement, to brand it a disgrace is a bit OTT if you ask me.

I agree with you but Soriano and his bean counters will see it as a loss leader to attract the only kind of fans he wants, ABC1s. I’m guessing he’s done the numbers and worked out that long term there’s more revenue to be earned from potentially well off graduates than relatively impoverished locals.

Live the ‘boiling a frog’ analogy. Sums up Soriano’s attitude to local ‘legacy’ fans perfectly

Nhs workers should all get a payrise..our club make millions fro. Tv etc.
But still see fit to increase prices every year..600 for my ticket a few years ago..695 next season.
There is no way they needed to increase prices again this year
