Seat Counters - 2024/25

Is just me, or don’t the FA Cup 3rd round tickets against Salford seem to be shifting? There are hundreds left in quite a few blocks. I appreciate there’s still a week and a half to go until the match.
They're shifting. Not at a huge rate of knots but they're shifting nonetheless. Between Monday teatime and Wednesday morning, about 600 sold.

What is the advantage of membership over a supporter number. I have an ST so don't get involved in these things. I'm guessing it's quicker access to tickets via F&F.

I'm no expert. A supporter number is for life, whereas membership is renewed annually for non sc holders.
Membership allows a time window to buy tickets , if not all sold, people with supporter number gets a chance to buy.

Pretty much, plus membership gets you £5 ticket discount and the 10% shop, food and drink discounts.

Ticket exchange or returns from touting partners. We'll never know, but the club should insist the touting partners return them early enough for fans to buy them and plan transport if required.
If it was returns from touting partners then there would be hundreds left in some of the blocks but that isn't the case with any of the blocks

And when you take into account that we have sold out FA cup games against the likes of Rotherham and Port Vale in recent years, it would appear the club have now broken the back of the local ‘legacy support’.
City have gone from 34k at Maine Rd to 53k now, and in another year it will be 62k.

They’ve changed the system and increased the barriers to entry by introducing the Citizens membership requirement. It’s a money spinner but to the detriment of the good old fashioned “walk up” attenders.

I also have a hunch that there is masses of bad PR around the club too which is putting off potential new fans.

I agree 100% with that last sentence, the constant bile and negativity hits hard coupled with so much short term thinking by the powers that be regarding the so called legacy support and lapsed blues.

They still went on general sale, so the point about City not putting it on general sale due to security reasons simply not true. As you say it's because city just want a few more membership sign ups
When an away team sells out there are extra restrictions on the home team selling, that is the way it has worked at City since the 90s.

It isn't a case of "they did that so we can". If City had sold first there would have been issues with Salford putting them on open sale, and if City had expected to sell out they would have blocked it like Liverpool do.
