Seat Counters - 2024/25

That’s right, I’ve felt right entitled the last 52 years of going. I’m lucky enough to have a free ticket for tonight but going to Saints as well if I had to pay for Prague is too expensive for me. With associated expenses well over £100.
The fact we are in such a wonderful period is irrelevant to me - I’m a blue I go no matter how we are doing.
But there a lot of blues who just can’t afford to go and that needs looking at especially for the future because…..hold your breath…..once Pep leaves we may not be serial trophy winners
Thats always been the way, going years back, don't you get it ? You can either afford it or you can't, same as the cinema, a meal out, a takeaway etc etc...tickets for a £5 maybe ?

Yes I do get it but what you don’t seem to get is that when prices were affordable you had the choice of going to the match or the cinema. Nowadays there is far less of a choice.
Still I guess if City put prices up to similar to Villa for CL (£80 or so) you’d be saying the same thing.

How did you cope when we were shit ? And it wasn't cheap to watch either...

I’ve said before what’s it got to do with being shit? I think it was 35 games I went to in Div 3.
I think your attitude is just a tad smug.
Why is it smug ? How can you moan about the prices and the team we are watching ? The ONE thing that the club has to do is cheap child tickets, thats one area they are failing on.

Just because we are the best team in the world doesn't mean value isn't subjective. Compared to other teams our tickets are currently good value. £500 to one person is a cheap bottle of Champaign on a night out, to another person that is the difference between being able to feed their family and using food banks.

Prices across football are currently starting to price out the working class fans, eventually it will mirror American sports and lose its soul

American here.

Definitely do not want to see this happen. In our major sports leagues, the focus has shifted more and more toward giving fans an overpriced "experience" rather than being making the game accessible to passionate fans. The NFL stadiums in LA and Vegas are prime examples of this but it's happening in multiple sports all over the country.

Although I'm not from the UK I do keep an eye on ticket prices and it's clear to me they keep ticking upwards despite the fact wages in the UK generally aren't as high as they are here, and the fact that football fans in the UK are generally more passionate about their clubs than American sports fans are about their own teams, I'm definitely afraid of the Prem trending more towards over-produced, soulless matchday experiences like the ones that are too commonplace here.
