Fans on here have constantly posted how they have tried to start chants off, but people around them just look at them in silence, or even tell them to shut up. When you are surrounded by tourists, day trippers, football fans, people who do not support City, but are just there for the match, how do you expect songs to get started in other parts of the ground, apart from SSL1, and blocks 111,110, 109?
When City played Hamburg the whole stadium was supporting the team.
Soriano and his team have sanitised the Etihad, filling seats once filled with legacy fans, with tourists, day trippers, football fans, and fans of other clubs that City are playing on the night, Real Madrid. Feyenoord, etc.
City’s match ticket selling model is based on Barcelona’s, Real Madrid’s etc. Price out legacy fans, and fill those seats with new and wealthier City fans, and football fans, who will pay more for a seat.
Very true mateI agree with almost everything you said and the club are certainly letting us down.
My point was that but you can’t blame the poor vocal support on tourists alone. Everyone reading this knows that most of our ‘proper’ fans mostly don’t make a sound.
....which why it is so important that SSL3/2 is all City and makes a racket above the away scroates in the shit seats of ESL110 & 111.Unfortunately Soriano and his cronies will make sure the expanded North Stand is soulless
Interesting that Brighton have exactly the opposite opinion and are moving the away fans and splitting them across 2 tiers to “quieten them down”. 3 thousand all in one block would make a lot more noise than split over 3 tiers as they are now. And I doubt the people currently in 110/111 think they’re in “shit seats” as presumably that’s where they chose to be? Anyway, just my opinion, and not worth a row as it’s never gonna happen anyway.....which why it is so important that SSL3/2 is all City and makes a racket above the away scroates in the shit seats of ESL110 & 111.
Sad to say it, but apart from key matches we ard pretty unimpressive...I'm SS level 1, and we generate a lot of songs but it's hardly the Wall of Sound that many teams seem to be able to generate...the Hamburg game all those years ago the Real game a couple of seasons back and the start of the Derby last week...otherwise we need to up our game and get behind the team more consistently, not just crowing when we are 4-0 up ffsI agree with almost everything you said and the club are certainly letting us down.

That is why the PL regulated teams had to keep pitch side seats as clubs wanted to get them far away from pitch like Newcastle do and Mu do to a lesser extent, and Sunderland started doing in the last 4 seasons or so against us. Villa did it thinning out the fans near the pitch with more in the upper tier.Interesting that Brighton have exactly the opposite opinion and are moving the away fans and splitting them across 2 tiers to “quieten them down”. 3 thousand all in one block would make a lot more noise than split over 3 tiers as they are now. “You’re not incredible” was complained about by Porto.I’ve got thin skin when it comes Manchester.
I’ve never seen a Liverpool or Everton fan ejected and given a 3 year tragedy chant ban for chanting Manchester is full of shit, shit, and more shit. You’ll hear the chant on Boxing Day. But chant feed the Scousers and that’s now classed as a tragedy chant, when it has always been classed as football banter. What’s next, you fat bastard? He’s got a pie in his pocket? If you can’t speak proper shut your gob? Cry in a minute, he’s gonna cry in a minute? Etc.
That away end at fulham was qualityOur away support is the best in the league. I have only missed Palace away and liverpool this year. Yeah a few go to tourists but you are very.wrong aboit the away atmosphere being killed. I take it you werent at Fulham last year?? One of the best away ends of my life.
City is a business. Matchday pricing is to steep. Season tickets are not
This is what the bloody club should be doing for Manchester childrens homes, hospitals etc.Tickets now being given away on the Face Value pages
Definitely- am sure a ticket I resold for Spurs never went on the exchange at all but went to off site hospitality. It has a padded seat“The club marks the 'Exchange' tickets up to generate 'illicit' profit.”
How do they do that? Do they buy off someone who can’t attend and pay them what they’ve paid for their ticket (if non season card holder)
And if it’s a season card holder do they pay them 1/19th of their season card cost?
Then sell them in for more than either of the above?
I’ve made this point a lot. It’s not just pricing. You basically have to have a season ticket to get anywhere near the tickets for the big games. It’s inevitable people don’t attend all games, especially older fans, and when they are all on the telly. Seat exchange helps with this. I suspect games like tomorrow will actually sell 55,000+ when resales are counted. If there's really high individual match prices and reasonably priced season tickets it's inevitable that even people who are looking to attend half or fewer Prem games will buy season tickets.
The root cause of most of this is the obscenely high prices for individual Premier League games which will also give City a dilemma if they are getting thousands of tickets back 3 weeks before Southampton at home in midweek of whether to sell the tickets cheaper at that point.
And how much extra are City actually making by selling Everton at home at 12.30pm for £70 rather than £35?
Fulham was amazing (helps with the low roof) but will have had it’s fair share of tourists just like the other London games - that day was us being up for it to drive the boys towards the line! That away end at fulham was quality
