Seko Fofana

Great win for Fulham last night and it seems Fofana was pivotal, this loan is doing him the world of good apparently.

Hopefully the making of him, physically and mentally.

120mins for a youngster,in a game of such magnitude and in awful conditions,is a hell of an ask, very impressive indeed!

I don't know if it's been said but I'll put my head above the parapet, an eventual Yaya replacement? He's certainly got the physical attributes and if he's playing 120 minutes of senior football he must already have the stamina.

He's many things but he's definitely not a Yaya. He's more of a Sissoko at Newcastle.

He, like most, hasn't got the composure of Yaya who is incredibly composed and technically accomplished - Seko won't get that but he could develop into a very strong, leggy, lung bursting attacking midfielder in that Sissoko range.

He needs improve his passing and ball retention then maybe, but that's why he's on loan to learn the ropes

I think he's more of a charger, wheras Yaya ticks the game over, then moves. Whether he can learn that, I don't know, but all his best moments for me, have been high tempo stuff or long shooting.

I agree that it's brilliant they trusted him with 120 mins in the cup.

I really think this lad has the ability to be something special, but also is lacking 'something'. If he can find that bit extra, to impose himself on games, we will have a real player imo. Possibly by next season. If not, it may end in a moderate transfer fee.

Looking promising just now though. If he gets game time, he will learn stuff.

It is good that he is getting valuable experience and has settled at Fulham but I doubt he will be in a City shirt next season. This seems to me more of a Emyr Huws type of loan.

Just watched a replay of all 120 mins vs WW. Two improvements for Seko stuck out. 1 - the cartoon question mark no longer follows him around the pitch - looks like he's over his jitters and is just getting on with his game. 2 - Scott Parker will now freely pass him the ball whereas before he'd often ignore the chance to slide Seko a pass. He's trusted more.

He appeared to play right MF in a 4-3-3 in the first half but moved inside with Parker in a 4-4-2 early in the 2nd half. He's doing better - won the FK in the 119th minute that led to the wall handball that gifted Fulham the last gasp PK chance. Encouraging stuff.
