Seko Fofana

He's many things but he's definitely not a Yaya. He's more of a Sissoko at Newcastle.

He, like most, hasn't got the composure of Yaya who is incredibly composed and technically accomplished - Seko won't get that but he could develop into a very strong, leggy, lung bursting attacking midfielder in that Sissoko range.

You think yaya had the composure he has now at that age? It's about patience. The game will slow down for him as he ages and who knows what will become of young seko. I wish him all the best though

He didn't have the exact same composure, no, but he was a lot more composed than Seko is. Miles more. You tend to turn into more refined versions of what you are as a kid and Fofana's playing style is no way even near Yaya's. People make the comparison cos he's a big lad with a powerful shot and a fast run. Yaya's a playmaker and there is absolutely nowt to suggest Fofana is that too.

I wish him all the best too, I just don't think we should expect him to be something that he's not even close to style-wise. As I said, he reminds me most of Sissoko. Powerful runner, but not the kind that can control tempo like Yaya and Silva can - very few players in the world are capable of that.

Fantastic news that Fulham have extended his loan till the end of the season.Under the tutorage of Symons and obviously gaining greater confidence,he appears to be progressing by the game. The Fulham supporters are impressed with him and believe, while still raw,he is displaying real potential.

Maybe not a Yaya......but I'll settle for a Sissoko.......

A great achievement by the lad.

Great stuff, all you ask for off lads on loan is that they can handle it competitively and now Fulham obviously think so. A good sign for the future and if he doesn't make it with us ( and i think he may to some degree) then we will be at least looking at Huws type money in the future.

Delighted for him.

It shows they value him, so again whatever happens with his City career, it is yet another player who has come to City's academy & has shown that it is a good stepping stone toward a career in football.

Now he has to show us if he is good enough for that career to be at City, or whether he'll end up elsewhere.

An 'interesting' thread.

The consensus of the above isn't remotely surprising,he plays much better in the centre of the park - his natural position - no shit.....

Cheers for the link.

Good for the lad that they want to extend his loan.

If i'm being honest i've seen a lot of negativity towards him on twitter when i've searched his name which is a little depressing. Fulham fans feel he gives the ball away loads from what i can gather, which will have to improve greatly if he wants to cut it for us.

it doesn't sound promising for his long term prospects at City but it is still a valuable learning curve and we will get a decent fee if he improves.

So you watched Yaya when he was 19, playing for Metalurh Donetsk ?

Composure comes with age and I wouldn't say a Toure-like game is out of Seko's reach. Atm you are right, Seko is closer to Sissoko than Yaya. However this is the same Yaya who was told by Wenger when he was young that he wouldn't make it as a midlfielder and that he's more akin to a striker. Just think about what you are saying. If anything Seko shows more promise than the 19 year old Toure. Yaya was an incredibly late bloomer.
