Seko Fofana

I think West Brom would be a good move for him, Marrseille would be too but with clubshop there the baggies will have a more safer season than usual and the way he manages would teach Seko and us alot about the consistency his game needs. It would be very much a sink or swim move but with whats coming through our youth setup thats going to have to be the case sometimes or players will start to look like they are standing still.

Good point on two levels.
Firstly, United probably had similar reservations about Pogba, but panicked, and moved him on too quickly.
Secondly, despite our persistent ridicule, Tony Pulis is the ideal man to work on his weaknesses and teach him discipline. If he continued to develop, he would get plenty of games at the Hawthorns.

The way things are going I can't see Fofana making it at City. At least not for the immediate future. After his loanspell at Fulham he should have been up there with the likes of all these youngsters gaining important minutes with the 1st team during the preseason tour. These are the moments that tell you yes or no. Same with Rekik tbh. Still, he's on a loan.

Rekik was sold?

Same with Ntcham, Bytyqi and a few others probably, sadly or not.

It shows you have to be really special to get in to our first team. One academyplayer a year would be exceptional.
I don't think you have to be really special, but you do have to at least be very consistent, which Fofana and Ntcham really aren't. You can have a few less talented academy players in your squad if they are reliable, especially if they are versatile (a bit like Jimmy or Delph tbh). I think any attacking players coming through will have to be a bit special though, given the competition even in the academy.

To be special you have to have the right mindset to get the most out of what you are naturally born with. Therefore it's only a very few from the academy that eventualy make it. Some are simply not gifted enough, some don't have the right mindset. Zabaleta and Milner to me are perfect exemples of the current generation who are not so talented, yet had the mentality to get the best out of themselves.
