It'll be his age mate. He'll be a follower as opposed to a fan. Silva winning the league and the Aguero moment when he was like 10 years old, and he's chosen 21 too. Reckon its true.

Yeah - I can see that would be true mate.

Players are different from fans in their ‘support’, and clearly have teams whose style they enjoy following - and would love to be part of.

I can see a player brought up at Barcelona potentially viewing City that way.

This. What is so unbelievable about a now 21 year old having an interest in a club that was playing some wonderful football and having big moments consistently since they were a kid interested in football. Putting aside whether Gomez himself actually said it or not.

If he's asked for 21 then it isn't that much of a reach for him to have been a City fan... with him growing up as an attacking midfielder watching our 21- his Spanish compatriot make himself a legend here

I think 21 was his number when at La Maisa. Obviously it previously belonged to our greatest ever player, & is available after Torres left for Barça.

Let's hope Gomez is more Silva than Torres! :-)

They did something similar with Mangala, accidentally left autoplay turned on on their video hosting account so his signing video played automatically even though he hadn’t been announced
Hope Sergio Mk2 turns out better than Big Mango

Cos they read the papers, watch sky, bt and bbc. The negative media has definitely had a negative impact
