Sergio's Injury

It's confirmed - my calf injury will leave me out for at least a month. The good news is recovery work starts today! We started with therapeutic massages on the area and some bike work.I'll keep you posted. Thanks for the support!

Kin hell, he's only been out a couple of days and he's already back on the bike!

Surely that would be quite painful at this current time?

As good as Sergio, we are not a ONE MAN team. We should and would cope without him specially with the addition of Negredo, Navas and Jovetic.

Hopefully Jovetic can stay fit then. Perfect opportunity for him to make his mark in the side going into the new year. With the FA Cup too it means Dzeko and Negredo will have a lot to do. Having said that, I do not believe we will miss Aguero too much. We can play an extra man in midfield and one up top. Lots of options.
This.

I was going to say blessing in disguise, but that is going way OTT.

So let me put it a different way: It might be no bad thing if we play 1 up front and 5 in the middle for some of the upcoming away games. And in the lone striker role, Negredo is as good as it gets for me. Especially with service from Silva, Nasri, Yaya. We can be solid across the park and dangerous as fuck. If (and it's a big fucking IF) Jovetic ever manages to get fit enough to play football for us, then him in the hole behind Negredo wouldn't be all bad either.

We have enough strength and firepower to do well even without the mighty Surge.

EDIT:

@Bluemoon Rising, Supercity = missed your posts, you beat me to it.

True in most cases, but the Liverpool game is a problem. They played very well against Spurs - seized the initiative from the first whistle. Our counterattack abilities would be as important here as they were against Spurs and Arsenal; and Aguero is absolutely critical to that. Negredo doesn't have his intrinsic ball skill or mobility (who does?) and Jovetic is simply untested in this sort of big game. Silva and Nasri have the skill and creativity, but they are not strikers so you're not going to get Kun's finishing.

We can try to pretend, but he is a huge loss for what is the most important game we have over the next 2 months.
