No suspicious circumstances, according to police. Do they think we were born yesterday? RIP

They need to give us some answers really.
it is highly suspicious. a lad over 6 ft is found dead near deansgate train station? did he just drop dead? i suppose they do have to wait to do a full investigation on the body but still, it isnt the first time this has happened to a young lad around that area and it probably wont be the last.

From the cctv footage he was blind drunk, also he was only 17 and dressed in light clothes on a cold night.
Why is his death highly suspicious?
He could have collapsed and chocked, or the weather and being drunk got him.
Very sad.

Exactly.
The Police would have nothing to gain from keeping any sort of info from us, the public, especially if that info could prevent any more deaths if indeed there is a loony on the loose. The common denominator here is booze. If these were all stone-cold sober people going missing of the day whilst shopping in town, then turning up dead in the canal or some back street, well yes, it would be suspicious to say the least. They're not though.

What kind of logic is that? It is far easier to pick on a drunk person than a sober one. The same with any crime, you wouldn't mug a hard bastard when poor doris has just withdrew her pension.

And on the other hand, it's far easier to stumble and crack your head on something when you're half-cut than it is when you are sober. As far as I know there are no reports of foul play in any of the cases where these poor people have been found dead. The only thing that links them is that they were all on nights out and all, I would suspect, pissed up.

None have turned up with any physical injuries but have ended up drowning, it is very strange and once this story calms down in another 6 months another will turn up. I really hope it is because of too much booze but I think there is something more sinister going on. Manchester City Centre is cctv central so hopefully somewhere they will find the missing piece.

Are folk still running with this 'Manchester Ripper' nonsense?
Manchester has 20 odd miles of waterway, most of it unprotected.
Millions of folk every year get drunk and take drugs, then try to walk home.
I think I can see a possible explanation here.
Clearly every loss of life is a tragedy for the deceased and their loved ones, but to link these deaths with no proof whatsoever seems bizarre to me.

I remember jumping in when city won the fa cup. My mate when first and said it was deep, I nearly broke my ankles. My other mate slashed his heel open on a broken bottle and had to get a tetanus. It was hard to climb out to be fair.

You can drown quite easily in a foot of water esp if you are drunk

Hypothermia is a serial killer just not the one it seems certain people on here want it to be

I just remember being of the age where Friday/Saturday nights out in town were a weekly thing, and sometimes we would walk home using the canal. It's so easy to have fallen in, banged my head and good night me in this life. 'Hopefully' that is all these incidents are, and we don't have a maniac targeting revelers on a weekend. Maybe we are just hearing more about them due to social media etc? Maybe a trawl through the records would show finding people dead in such circumstances isn't that new after all, it's just been as easy to report people missing in the past to the masses.
